Anyone know where I can get a spark plug boot & wire locally? I check Auto Zone & Quest auto parts and no luck. I just hate to buy a $6 boot and have to pay $15 for shipping.

Try NAPA, you should ask for help in the performance section, possibly a motorcycle shop, I also had some "used" solid core 8mm wires from my chevelle, worked great, use a dremmel tool to taper a bit of the insulation before you screw the wire to the CDI.

Most auto parts stores will carry replacement coil wires that are usually sold as a single wire with boot.

Here's an example from Jegs. You can use the Google search box for many threads/posts on this subject.

I bought a NGK boot ($5.95) and spark plug wire by the foot ($1 per ft) at a Bates #2 discount cycle.

A couple of the best places to acquire a wire and boot, usually for free are at either a lawnmower shop or a marine shop. If a coil needs to be replaced they are a unit (not like our CD's). Shouldn't be a problem picking up a bad coil.
