Awesome nostalgia IWW! I used to spend hours dreaming of those cool ads in the backs of my Dad's magazines.
Some of my earliest gearhead memories were due to Heathkits or DIY plans built out of the back of a Popular Mechanics!

Modern magazines don't have anything like the wonderful plans the old magazines had. I must say though that I'm a cowardy custard about building something like a pulse jet; - if I was still in my twenty-somethings maybe, - but not now (sigh).
