Motor Bikes Gurus! Lots of questions here!

I want to apologize to everyone for the clutter and repeated pics posted that were failures, and especially to the Moderators who have or might help me get this thread cleaned up but here is now my official build thread with pics

Here is the old paint color and the CRAPPY old engine that had every single thread stripped and run on 1/4 of a cylinder lol

After 2 days of sanding got all the rust and paint off and repainted the bike this neat gray color with a few misc parts of the bike being painted black

As I finished the actual bike before the kit install! My 1970 blown camaro in the back :)


Yes the light you see on the ground is a extra headlamp from my camaro wired straight up the battery (honest to god its the best,strongest,longest lasting flashlight you will ever have)and also the garage stayed this messy for all 2 days of the build (which i took like almost 2 days to sand/paint lol


Here she is all complete :) with my extra clean 2 inline fuel filters from autozone :P always a mechanic at heart



I know its a clutter for now ill get it all cleaned up and more detailed better pics soon. Mods please let me know if I should relocate this post to any other appropriate thread!
 
I guess my bike is crappy lol! No comments -_- ... Eh it is a TurdBaLL...!! In going to repaint whatever I can repaint with the motor and all that in tact
 
Why you so hard on it? looks good so far. No need to hurry, it takes time for it to evolve exactly as you see it in your minds eye. Take your time you do fine. I'm 5 weeks into a build. When it's done it's not.
 
Looks good to me so far. I really like the grey paint. Now consider some violet or purple pin striping.
Seriously, what Allen said is right on. There's always going to be something to add or change until you feel it's right. Keep on truckin'. Looks just fine.

Looking good so far to me too... These things don't just go together and end up perfect in a few hours or over night...
The first hurdle is getting it together and that means on several ccasions to stop and make things fit by trimming, welding, making brackets etc... It all has to fit right then it all has to work once it's installed so this means taking things back off for even more modification, more cutting, trimming, bracket making etc etc...
Once you're at that stage it should be a decent rider but may still need some final adjustments here and there, and possibly going over everything and retorquing because something will always work it's way loose.
After you get everything to stay put and it rides really nice then it's time to start playing with it and making it yours, giving it those unique touches and setting everything up exactly the way you want it to be... Now it's in even batter shape but time to take everything off the frame for a new paint job... and it goes on and on and on...
 
I just want to 4th the last three comments, bike looks good to me, its your bike and Id do it up the way you want it as you can, he k thats what I do, none of mine are fancy at all, but they're all solid and dependable for the riding I do and thats what matter most.

I'm still trying to understand WTF he's trying to say in his last post, Something about steering tubes I think.
This guy is not only hard to understand but also gives dangerous advice. He is going to get someone killed from his lack of knowledge and building experience. SELF TAPPING SCREWS??? And he wasn't kidding, (WTF BGF. If ya dont know something, Dont ACT LIKE YA DO.) AND I'm not even sorry if I sound rude.

So, Can we vote him off the island. JUST KIDDING. Everyone has the right to post. Just not everyone knows how. He needs to learn to post in a way that people understand. I think he is trying to make himself sound educated and IT'S NOT WORKING. LOL.
 
Amen to that... its either that he's really that clueless and trying to look like he knows whats going on but doing a very poor job doing so or the guy is just here to insert himself in any and every intelligent conversation just to disrupt the conversations or see what kind of reactions he can get from people.
The thing that bothers me is recommending dangerous build methods like mounting an engine with self tapping screws or posting the same video in every post whether its relevant to the post or not.

I agree everyone has the right to post but at the same time they need to post stuff relevant to the topic at hand and not recommend stuff that's obviously dangerous to a bike's structural integrity or could ruin an engine etc... I mean, what if some newb comes in here, sees one of these recommendations, thinks its ok and follows that advise then has a bad wreck or destroys a brand new engine? This is where I gotta draw the line because it could cause somebody to get injured or worse...
 
Well, I'm gonna try one more time to leave this thread. And i'll stay gone untill boygoslow trys to kill someone again. then I'll be back to save lives. Cause thats what us superhero's do.LOL

Yeah, Yeah, Iknow, I said I was OUTTA HERE. But this is an entirely different question. And since the heading on this thread is for Motor Bike Gurus, This must be the place.
What would be the harm, If any besides some smoking, of using regular motor oil for the fuel mix. I've heard it said that in other countries it is sometimes done. I understant the potential for plug fouling and exaust smoke, but other than that, would it really hurt an engine? I know it's not meant to burn as clean as a 2 stroke oil, I'm just asking, Would it work?
Obviously I'm no GURU, just a Superhero.

the answer to your question is yes it will work, even some of the old American made 2 smokers were recommended to mix SAE 30w with regular gasoline.

I had a ooder Sear Craftsman Chainsaw that had these instruction posted on the fuel cap.

I used to run Non-Detergent 30w in my Echo Cs315 chainsaw for years, I bought this saw used when I was 16 years old it was an obsolete model then, I was cutting and selling fire wood back then, there is no telling how many cords of wood I have cut with that little saw and I still have it and it is still an excellent running saw, my cousin that cut with me wore out two Stihl chainsaws in the same period of time and my Echo has lasted until this day, best I remember I always used 6oz of oil per gallon of gas, oh yeah it smokes like crazy but always ran great, good power and never fouled spark plugs, I have only replaced spark plug one time in all these years.
IM NOT TELLING ANYONE TO RUN 30W IN THE BIKE ENGINES......!!!!!

But there isnt a doubt in my mind that it will run fine if not mixed to lean for most people riding styles, I would not recommend it for really high compression high rpm applications.

Just thought Id throw this in here for what its worth.
 
Thanks map, Thats exactly what I thought, Just wasn't fer sure. So you think I should run a little heavy if I try it at all? I've always said Too much oil wont hurt yer engine, ONLY too little oil. And yeah, I'll bet it'll smoke a bit.LOL
