Disc Brake Suggestions

I am looking for suggestions on a decent set of 160 mm Disc brakes that are somewhat wallet friendly.

I used the Tektro Aquila and was very happy with them. I think they were around $60 (Disc, caliper, cable and lever kit) but I scored a sweet deal for $35.

I like the type where on the caliper both pads have an adjustment. It makes it way easier to tune the setup. Some calipers only have an adjustment on the outside pad.

this is something that has intrigued me. Do you have to have a "special" type of frame/fork to use disk brakes or can you install them on "any" bike? I am on a strict budget and also need information too.

I sell the whole set up, including the mounting bracket & hub for $100. (no lever.)

Do you mean the forks and the brakes for $100.00 And I take for granted ( no lever ) means no brake handle right? Or is there another lever I don't know about.

My personal opinion from having gone through this process before:

Don't waste your time with 160mm disks.
Go straight for a Shimano 203mm disk and use the Avid BB7 mechanical caliper - makes for a very good combination.

Tektro works for me. Well, my front is Tektro, and my rear is Avid. I have replaced my pads in Avid 3 times already, and have still yet to replace pads in the Tektro. Both are mechanical... :)

What I sell for $100. is the disc brake hub, rotor, caliper, caliper adapter that works on any fork & all the screws to bolt it together. You need to buy a cable & lever of your choice.

These will work on "any" forks? they don't need to have a special mounting tab welded on or anything? Then if the answer is yes, as soon as my broke butt can get $100.00 We will do business.
