Congradulations Fair, i was there and you guys had a close run there for a few laps, it was awesome when you and the blue fox racer were passing each other back and forth until he took that corner wide and ended up in the dirt, leaving you to pull out front, good race, and i must say its kinda funny to see a bunch of motor bikers racing!!!!

Thanks for the photo wes, I am in the first row outside.

I blew the start, had my bike in the wrong gear then I let the clutch out too soon and stalled the motor.

My friend Omar is in the red shirt

The Death race was impressive. I knew these little motors were reliable when ridden at a commuting pace. I had no idea that they could endure race conditions like that.
Watching the tandem take the corners was priceless.

What can I say missed out on another one. One of these days I get to attend this gig. Looked like lots of fun. It would be cool to meet some of the forum members and race. Congrats Fair on your win. Now just sorta do it like Lance Armstrong and let no one win for a long long time Ha Ha ..

There are a few that keep asking about the bike and motor

Bike: 23" Specialized RockHopper Comp A1. I cut the seat tube right at the top cross bar so I could at least tipie toe to reach the ground. I could not afford the fancy seat post for it so I used a 1" seat tube off a BMX bike and drilled holes to screw it in place.

36T ThatsDax rear sprocket

Wheels, rear wheel is steal off a junk Murry Mt. Bike and the front wheel is alloy off my J-dog and it's off a old Ross Mt. Bike.

Tires 26X1.9 cyclepros

Motor, Completely stock purchased in 04 or 05...dont remember. It's a old 80cc bushing kings motor with over 8,000 miles on it. Same motor off my Della Cruz cruiser. A freakishly over sized pipe off a 125 or 250cc dirt bike. I cut it apart and did some work to the inside. I ran Amsoil Saber 50:1 and stuck a fresh NGK B6hs and gapped it at .024 and dropped a few mothballs into the fuel lol. Thats my story on the motor and I am sticking to it.

I averaged 22.1mph during the race with a top speed of 33.4mph according to my speedo.
