I forgot about the LS2.. that bike does have a nice rear suspension setup as well... And that Specialized Epic... it would be rather easy to put a swingarm setup like that on a larger mountainbike frame

Personally, I'd go with the LS2 for an easy to build without doing any serious mods platform...

That LS2 build was a customers 'please finish it' build.

That is a NuVinci CVP hub with disc brake.
It didn't last long, they don't with engine power and overkill gear range anyway, an internal 3-speed is all any respectable engine needs.

was it hard to mate the nuvinci disc brake hub to a non disc brake frame? are there others out there that are made for non disc brake frames. What do u mean it didnt last long? u wore out the brakes quickly. or it was a total fail? Excuse all the ???'s but im very curious
