Norm, can you really reach the handlebars?

John
Yes, I can actually reach the bars just fine... I'll measure the height of them tomorrow.

Iam not sure if I would like the way it steer's! but very cool build! Good Job Venice! and oh by the way , How do you make x-tra long cables? buy cable by the roll?
It steers a little 'squirlier' than the Voodoo chopper, but I'm used to how they ride!
I make my own cables from super long brake cables.

I've decided that I'm going with a 'drag pipe' instead of the 'fish tail'.

(edit)... The in frame gas tank holds a lot more gas than I thought it could!! (almost as much as the purple Schwinn!)

(another edit)... I also kept the red sparkle hand grips!! (^)

Here's todays progress...
I made new extra long cables, moved the CDI & routed the wires inside the frame, & took it out for a spin around the neighborhood... It runs smooth & fast, but it's crazy loud with a straight pipe!!!

I decided that i'm just gonna go for it & make my own pipe tomorrow.

Wednesday I'm gonna finish the front disc brake.

Where's briton bees??? Still playing games?
Holy Crap! That's crazy sick man!dance1

Ok here is where i am at......don't think i will make it snowed in everything shut down for days , couldn't get to shop....orther problems so i will post what i got and as much as i can get and step out of the build off...congrats VB (you win in my book dude)

still have to make seat tube bent to radius of rear wheel, some brackets here and there, rear foot pegs, paint ,lights ....

you all have been great see you all next year:-||

WOW... after all that 'calling me out' & challenging me to this biker build off & talking trash... he drops out of the contest?!?!? WOW..............

Anyways, here's my progress for today;
I cut & welded two pipes together to make a short drag pipe, then I modified the baffle for more power. (I will grind the welds smooth tomorrow.)
I also cleaned the rear tire...

I took it out on another spin, & it sounds much better! :D

if you were as smart as you think you are, you would have noticed, the firebike frame is modified , the whole head tube (rake and tube was changed). the whole rear end rebuilt to accept 135mm and disk break then realigned to speck within 2mm alignment wich firebikes was off by 13mm, tank was custom built............i wish i could get removed as a member to this site.....you have been nothing but a pain....but in the end i am sure you know that.....
You couldn't get it any closer than 2 mm. Thats a mile to a machinist.

Hey Venice....isn't that a Felt frame you chopped and melted back together?

and Ret, 2mm tolerance on a frame is fine. Most truck frames have a 1/2" tolerance
from the factory and that is referred to as nominal.
That's why frames aren't machined.............................they're fabricated.

Yes it is... I said that in my very first post! (& I showed pics of it!) ;)

Keep in mind that the only reason I'm acting this way to BBM, is because of all the trash he was talking when he challenged me to this contest!

I didn't start this... HE DID!

Here's todays progress,
I finished the front disc brake, I took it for a 6 mile ride & it ran well except the stock exaust gasket blew out.
I got it back home & installed one of Normans custom gaskets... It's perfect now! ;)

Basically, It's all done now, just some minor clean ups & a 'fish tail' exaust pipe in January when Shawn gets back in town.
I think I'm taking it on the christmas ride tomorrow!! :D

Here's a pic that Bob 'Turkman' took of me & my Build Off bike at the Christmas ride.

The bike ran well & completed the ride, it had a couple of bolts that vibrated loose & a tiny (easily fixable) leak in the tank.
