This picture is sweet...hard core to the bone...The bike is hot and can give some great ideas for builds.

Very cool!!!!!!!!

I was actually reading a little about the Isle Of Mann race the other night. If I remember correctly in 2011 there was a 1911 Indian that was meant to do a parade lap, but unfortunately the race fell behind so the Indian hot lap was canned. Would have been great to see :-(
 
British and European makers in the early years had their own particular styles and forms. Some of them were stylish enough, others are now quaint, gawky, ill thought out devices.
 
The “Whizzer Like” sleeve on the right rear wheel appears to be a large band brake...

If it's the Denly pic, I think it's a "spoon" brake. A dummy belt rim with a curved shoe forced into it.
 
It's interesting to note that a lot of these riders were small built guys a lot like Horse Jockey's. I'm only 5'6" at 135-140 so I guess I'm not that far off :)
