WOW I had to turn the midrange screw out 1 turn to get it to start with the new air filter, guess it flows better lol!

I still have this pulsing senstation unless I'm at absolutely full throttle, which I can only attribute to chain or pumper carburetor, I might make another chain and try that next. I've richened up the mixture as much as I can in the mids and the high circuits. Crazy how lean this sucker was stock.

It picks up clutch at about 6000 locks pretty steady and can cruise at about 20mph at 8000 rpm somewhat quietly, above that there's a bunch of natural frequency oscillations that start going nuts and it buzzes a lot and the engine sounds like chainsaw on blast. THe airbox might hel with noise, but the main benefit was uncorking the intake which to my surprise was extremely restricted, the midrange is stronger now.

I think I have isolated the oscillation to the freewheel sprocket on the peg, think its out of round so I'm going to use the ACS freewheel and another chain and see if this problem goes away tomorrow.

The performance other than the lack of top speed is incredible it shoots right up to redline easy, of course its slow as S%&# but I'm not going to reg it, because its a stand up scooter, so I guess its ok, it is great fun blasting along at 25 on the pegs and popping a power wheelie! It could also go up the hills I encountered okay, which is a huge concern.

Figured out the source of the tight spot in the chain and the bad oscillation, its the cheap $5 rear sprocket I bought, doesn't spin true. What you pay for... :(

I've gotta try and find one tomorrow that will. I went ahead and put the Staton ACS big freewheel on the peg since I was able to kick the chain off the smaller one when it stretched and got loose. This one's tall enough that will be less likely to happen.

The sprocket vibration is now pretty much gone with the uber tightening of a true sprocket on there with a tacked ring.

Found a couple issues today, the exhaust came off since the springs I'm using aren't the strongest, so I put some safety wire on that loop so it won't pop off completely.

I lost my bike racks end plug that held my taillight, it must've vibrated out and dumped somewhere. Oh well.

I was hillclimbing and just happened to see my woodruff key on the trans slipping out, so I banged it back in with a rock, the screw isn't holding firmly enough. I have more keys to use to make it work fortunately.

The bike is crazy, I think its best use would be for trials type of stuff since it tops out going slow, but it has insane pickup from a get go and is good for blasting around tight corners. It's definitely not a touring bike but geared like this I know it would handle all the hills between my house and school, going slowly and getting passed by spandos on the way back down the hill lol.

I bet if I took a copy of the law with me I could use this bike on ridge trails, gopeds are legal on bicycle trails here, and I think that includes dirt. I'm certainly not a threat, I can't get going fast enough to be one! :D

So I fixed the set key issue, now it's retained by a set screw and loctite seating compound, its not going anywhere.

There was also a couple cracks in the skid plate from vibration, so I welded repairs and reinforcement onto it. Painted it with some Metalast and some wheel clear so it looks like before and resists gasoline.

I have too many bikes so I'd be willing to sell this bike to the first person with $1000 in hand. I simply have too many bikes and not enough money, so that's why I'm entertaining offers to buy.

I looked at Wally World's website and it looks like they erased the existence of this bike frame or they all got snatched up for motos, lol!

Now I'm second guessing whether I should sell this thing since its a one of a kind collectors edition lol. It's kind of a bummer, because I held onto it this race weekend instead of putting a sign on it, with the intent of making a jig off the engine cradle to make a kit. Major bummer :/

It would be hilarious if somebody bought them all up to stick motors on with the graphics peeled off under a different name, lol.

What was it about this frame? Wouldn't another one work just as well if it were like the X-games bike?
I assumed it was a lucky layout that made you choose it.
I know I've seen frames with that sweet clearance curve in the downtube...just can't recall brands.

That's the whole deal, the sweet curve in the downtube allows the room for an upright motor like this underneath. There's a guy that has one for sale on Amazon for $30 more than the price at Walfart and it says "more on the way" meaning he's prolly scouring the tri state area's Wallys buying their boxed up ones, lol.

What's weird is that other than the one for sale and a couple unanswered customer service questions there is no evidence this bike was made on Google, pretty crazy!

Looks like a good frame to motorize!

It's too bad about these bikes disappearing, a kit would have been pretty straightforward to make. I think I might keep mine now since the motor is warranted, so I can start fresh next season, lol!

Well I'm tired of this cast crf50 skid plate cracking from the vibrations, it welds lousy too.

So I'm making a facsimile out of aluminum diamond plate sheet, gonna try and make it so that I don't have to fix it every other ride, lol.

Since this bike doesn't look like it will continue to be produced, a lot like previous x-games bikes have, I'm going to keep it. I like how its small and light and fits in my car and its simple and easy. It's not a tremendous performer, but it goes faster than I could ever pedal a BMX, especially uphill! I feel like I need to downsize and slow down, the whole point of picking up this hobby, and this thing has enough grunt to get me where I want to go and gets good mileage doing it.

If anybody out there with one of these wants an engine mount, I sure can make another for about $200, that would be about a day's worth of labor to build it the second time around.

Yeah, I found those results too, they're not really for sale anymore though. It's too bad, it worked out like a match made in heaven.

The cast pit bike skid kept cracking so this is my attempt at something that might hold up. The revs really did a number on the old one, so I welded pretty thick where it was cracking last time. Here's the DEI Ti wrap I put on the pipe to keep from melting pants.

Maybe only a 3 month production run? And maybe that's a Walmart thing? The black schwinn delmar was only out about that long last year and I just found a bike today made by Genesis:confused: called Torrid. Has some pretty sweet looking mags that just might be able to be made into motorized wheels, maybe.

I really want those wheels.

I'm more partial to the mags on the Walmart Mongoose BMX bikes recently, like a 5 split spoke thing. I'm not a big fan of swirly spokes, but that looks like a neat bike though.

My brother-in-law has the ones you like and if you remember the chrome bike with blue 5 star mags I posted in the other thread those are from the brown & and white mongoose rebel. I like apse wheels too. Matter of fact, got some 12" apse scooter wheels too.
