40mph speed secrets revealed

no synching neccessary, there is only one cylinder. as long as you use silicon bronze, welding cables together is easy. this thread is old technology as far as i'm concerned though, moped cylinders and flat slides are where the power is.

some older jap thumpers had twin carbs one opened to half way then the other kicked in this gave the effect of good smooth low end with a crisp boost into top end!,tt600,xr500/600

dammm read 15 pages only to get left hangin..... no progress since march? finding this site makes me wish I still had machine shop job.....(um not really, dont miss smell of burned up unchanged oil)

Thanks Four, I gotta ask....is it me, cuz i just quit drinking few months ago, and need something to obcess over. or does this MB stuff grab hold of ya like crack? I'm stayin up all night reading here....diggin out dads old tig to see what it will weld....my neck is sore now cuz when I pedal around, its swivilin around looking every where for a old panther layin around....my eyes hurt from lookin at every cruiser on craigsist from Santa Barbara n San Luis Obispo (im in mid of the two) I think when its time to order, Venice MB's oughta cut me a deal, its his fault i'm like this now......saw his black boardtracker n I was hooked! at least my probation officer cant throw me in jail for this......I hope....LOL

Nice Head looks like it will run cool!.we.

i will periodically add pictures and the reasons why, for a few of the things that i have done in the quest for speed.

i did this to my combustion chamber to make it a more efficient "squish" type chamber. it helps to promote a more even flame travel and less risk of detonation. not to mention the added benefits of increased compression. the ideal size of the squish band is 1/2 of the bore area, which i have come pretty close to.

weld it up

clay, how fast does your beast go theese days? if that thing does 40 theres no way anyone with a std ht is going over 50 as stated on the darkside

am i wrong to say that theres no way a ht even with a shift kit will do over 50?

I would think that it would all depend upon the size of the gears: how small is the smallest one could get? and how many steps does the bike offer to get to that point?

put it this way, My bike is faster with a 44t than with a 36,38 tall gears slug the rpms down hard thus i loose massive speed

That's interesting. I don't know what the gearing is on a Schwinn Point Beach Cruiser (mine is better with 36t than 44t), but I'll bet your bike would have a 'sweet spot' with a top gear matched with just the right engine sprockets. It's just a matter of experimentation and figuring out what those gears are...

I know someone makes all kinds of gear sizes, but I can't think of who it is right now... This is an interesting consideration..
