Great film Norm, brings back memories from my visits in the early fifties. My Mom's family lived in L.A. great memories! Thanks for posting the link.Here's a really awesome film of Los Angeles in the early 1950s... Many of the buildings are still there!
They're mainly driving on Wilshire Blvd.

Yes, the film reminded me how much simpler everything was in the early fifties. Even with the cars in the film, a person could fix anything wrong in their own garage.
Go for it Wrench, it’s only about $25k away from a nice ride, wait, maybe $30K due to inflation.

I know, I got to the point I quit counting or keeping up with what I spent on our 50, I knew I was going to finish it so it really didn’t matter.

To think I was in a BevMo and the younger ones running the place did not know about either Schlitz Beer, or the recreation Schlitz Classic under license from original brewer. There was a bottled version when I was in Reno on the way to Burning Man a few year ago. Cans in Bay area were sold. Now nothing. I opted to get Rolling Rock.
I do also, I see a few at Back To The Fifties when I go, so Kool all fixed up............Curt

Looks like a 55-57 Chevy, 58 grill was different and had dual headlights.
I don’t know where”over there” is but am glad it’s not close to me, I would be too tempted to restore one more.
I had a 57 short bed in the late 70’s, I rebuilt the 283 and added a turbo 350 so my wife could drive it too. It needed paint and bed wood but ran well, I sold it in 84-85 for $600 I think.
Who regrets selling or trading a car or truck? I’ve made a few mistakes, the truck was one, I sold a 64 Impala super sport for $325 in 75 so I could buy my 67 GTO. I then spent 3K on the GTO building it out while I worked at the auto machine shop, then in 79 when gas got so high( 79 cents a gallon) I sold the GTO for $850. It was fast, 400 HD four speed with Tri-power carbs. I converted it to a solid lift cam and many other upgrades that are hard to remember. I went from one of the fastest cars around to my first new car, a 79 Toyota Corolla that wouldn’t pass anything!
