Hi Dennis, I have read a bunch of fender catastrophizes and the is why I went with Wald.

My Huffy Davidson fender and struts are a little slighter Ga. than Chevy Vega body work. One of the Tool and Die apprentices I served with bought a Vega and we put thumb dents in his car.

Looks like a good ole bike with a heavy frame! The Micargi bikes are heavy frame bikes but the company did skimp on
some of the addon quality. The one I have had single wall aluminum rims whereas the Sixthreezero had double wall
aluminum rims with better quality tires.

Don’t think huashenig makes a 79, but harbor freight sells the predator so cheep, with coupons. And are good motors, go-kart co’s sell parts for them for hop-up. They are Good motors, equivalent to old Briggs powered bike of years past, only higher reving. Should go about 30, 35 miles per hour. Back in the 50’s I did a 1 1/2hp Briggs, it did 30 mph .......Curt

The work looks good and would be a quick way to get into a motorized bike without spending a fortune on all of the addons
to build one.

Ya they are KOOL, but i like the old school frames, have a frame like the Typhoon only different name, Fleet i think, double wall rims.+ a few others. So i am good with bikes, and a lot of old motors. Here is my Lauson i am working on, little at a time. But going to restore a old Briggs generator friction drive this winter....Curt

Yeah Dennis most dogs are just enjoying the chase but others are in it to drag Old guys down! I take no chances with either variety.

I use to ride a 10-speed around the countryside and some of them farm dogs would try nipping at your ankles.
One ole fella and his wife use to ride about 2-3 miles once in awhile in the country and the ole guy carried a
cane with him to bop the dogs on the snout. I've seen him and his wife on the bikes and any dog close would
run for cover. Apparently, the dogs learned lessons about chasing bicycles!

LOL! Back in the 50's this was a quick way to get a motorized bike, cut the case out of the generator for friction drive......Curt

The first HYBRID Motorized Bike! The frame looks heavy and it's a good candidate for a 79cc or even a 212cc.

Back in the shop for an hour after work today doing the finish turning of the fender strut mounts for the front fender.
Next step, into the mill to drill, countersink,and tap for clamp screws and then split them with a slitting saw.
1/4-20 SHCS for maximum bite in 6061 aluminum.

Dennis, you are getting cranked up for winter which at your Latitude will arrive about 4 weeks after Rubicon, WI
My Wife thinks I am premature in sourcing 3 cords of firewood.

I had been on a 45 day bike tour and once two dogs out in the country gave chase and could have brought me down. I was fast, but what really helped were the two pieces of a fishing pole with bandanas flying on the ends for looks. One was vertical and another horizontal mounted on the rear carrier atop the saddle bags. One dog was just at my ankles and slowed for just a second and got bopped with the pole sticking out. I did not fall, but pedaled even harder to have both dogs give up.

Better to be safe than sorry and have to go get more firewood! I think this Winter is going to be a real cold one
so it never hurts to be ready!

I once had a farm dog chase me and he wanted to bite at my pants leg to get at my ankle. The next time I went by that farm
I was ready and was going to give him a lesson about chasing vehicles. I carried a squirt bottle of Dawn mixed with ammonia
and water in a squirt bottle this taught the dog a lesson. A boat horn which is real loud or bear spray would help. Dogs chasing
anything on a road is dangerous especially for a bicyclist and dog since the dog could get caught in the spokes of the bike ran
over flipping the rider.

Dennis I like your spirit of try it and .see. I haven't built a 4 stroke with CVT on a bike yet, but have done various go karts using both. The CVT is a game changer for final drive sprocket size though. I'm pulling for the 20 tooth to work for you, but that's pretty small.

I bought a Lifan 4 stroke vertical engine, think it's a 99cc, 3.5 hp about a year ago and put a comet CVT on it...bolted the thing down on a work bench and ran it for a couple of hours over the course of a few days to break it in. It's been waiting for me to get back to it ever since. I thought a 44 tooth would work with the CVT, my 175 lbs. & our hills, so I'm interested in what you find to work with the 212cc.though the Lifan has much less power and torque than the Predator 212.

I just thought of something concerning the Comet CVT which can be bought off of Ebay and other distributors. The Comet and
most of the CVTs I have looked at are ok BUT, the 5/8" shaft is too short and they are mostly made for gokarts and minibikes
since the sprocket on them is mounted next to the driven pulley. I have a picture I took to send to a fella at PowerSports since
he was interested in what I was trying to tell him on the phone about chain/sprocket placement was different on the motorized
bicycle CVT.

I just thought of something concerning the Comet CVT which can be bought off of Ebay and other distributors. The Comet and
most of the CVTs I have looked at are ok BUT, the 5/8" shaft is too short and they are mostly made for gokarts and minibikes
since the sprocket on them is mounted next to the driven pulley. I have a picture I took to send to a fella at PowerSports since
he was interested in what I was trying to tell him on the phone about chain/sprocket placement was different on the motorized
bicycle CVT.

It amazes me they haven’t come up with a smaller CVT for 5/8" shaft, with all the motor bike and mini bike out there now. Chine made one for pocket bike are junk, but are small, ( have 2 setting on the shelf ). Took one apart and is so corked were the drum mounts to the shaft, and its still setting that way, never tried mounting it. Its like the shaft threads are wrong and the drum warbles, did buy a new drum thinking it was bad, it to wobbled.

So what you are saying the sprocket is to close to the seat tube? .......Curt

My son has a long list of stories about dogs from his motorcycle ride to Brazil. He said the worst ones were the dogs that just lay there pretending to be asleep until you were right next to them then they made their move.

Yeah FOG the Predator probably and it's proven to be a good bike motor option. The Lifan 99cc is a single speed vertical cylinder commercial lawn tool type engine , no transmission; not the go cart/ATV type with transmission. Unlike the 79cc Predator I know of no speed part availability or even how good a motor it is...just bought it to play with.

Rick, this post is on the Lifan engines/transmissions, has anyone tried mounting any of the different size engines on a
bicycle. I remember one of the fellas a few years back was building a bike with a Lifan. The bike frame might have to
be extended to accommodate the length of the engine and transmission. The engines are noted for being quiet running
and a semi-manual shift transmission would be nice. I doubt that the bike would attract any cop attention as long as
a fella was not shifting and ramming it around town. I found a old link for you fellas to look at.
