Bought the wrong length of bolts for the disc brake caliper and mount. Oh well I just HAD to stop at McDonald's on the way back...

I'm not a big fan of Mickey D's and never eat there but I could probably go for about three quarter pounders with cheese and a big strawberry shake right now myself....LOL!

Cool looking bike!

Alright a little update so far from this weekend. I'm on my phone so I can't post photos. Anyways, the bike has been painted, the exhaust has been made, the piston has been drilled, cut, and ramped, light weight wrist pin and bearing installed, motor reassembled, disc brake attached to rim, mountain bike wheel has been fitted, and much more.

As for what can't be done.... New mikuni carb needs some fabrication, new fork needs re threaded and cut, pedal sprocket doesn't fit the chain right from mountain bike, gear shifter needs adjusted, and caliper needs attached.

Lots done and lots to do

Probably going to need to get a new crank with different sprocket to fit. Going to take it to a bike shop this next weekend to figure out what needs done.

Hey DRBS, PLEASE tell me I'm wrong, But it looks like ya drilled yer frame for the front mount. ANY experienced builder will tell you THATS a big NO on that. Their are much better ways to mount yer motor that wont crack yer frame, Maybe I'm just blind and cant see the mount.laff

I noticed that also, the frame being china-lume makes it an even bigger no... no... in my opinion.

Hope it works out...

Same here... I'm not seeing the mount that well but really hope that it's not drilled into that frame... I've seen a few frames claiming to be 6061 aluminum but their quality standards are no where near as good as ours.
A lot of people have found this out buying mild steel on the cheap then wondering why it hardens up after welding making it vulnerable to cracking etc so I'm pretty sure their aluminum is just about as bad...

Just keep a VERY CLOSE watch on it for cracking bro. Dont wanna see ya eat it over a busted frame. Ride safe.

That happened to me on a Kent bmx when I was a kid... we were doing some jumping then next thing I know I had the wind knocked out of me, my friends were all freaking out about how I wrecked because my frame snapped in half at the center and the top post rammed into my chest... luckily we were only jumping about a foot or so off the ground and it just left a nice bruise in the middle of my chest. The bike was toast tho and I had to carry it home in 2 pieces...

That's what I got pictures of at the moment. I'll take pictures of the exhaust here today sometime. Not feeling well got food poisoning over the weekend and haven't been up to much.

Forgot to mention on the GT5 bottom end I used a PK80 jug that I sanded down quite a bit. Probably could had sanded down more, but I will go from there and see what I get.

Here is the exhaust

It's upside down but you get the point. I am no expert welder in fact I have very little experience welding at all! So please bare with me as you see those welds. The pipe kinked so I had to get creative with what I had, I just hope the header is long enough. The pipe broke at the mounting point so I had to really weld and grind the inside to make it work. I need to find a good source for some piping that I could use because this is about as little piping as I can use and get to work. It fits right around the frame and comes up just over the clutch.
