OK so the rims are Alex dx 32 rims both F and R.

32mm wide, 36H black. They also sell a 32h version but I chose the 36 to have more spokes.

No modifications to fit 2.5" tires.

Spokes are 13/14g butted. Nipples are alloy 12mm. Rear hub is a 3 speed SRAM imotion disc version and front is a shimano xt with disc.

I hope this helps. I bought everything online and I think each rim was approx 34$.

Looking excellent!
How about a little better pic background for the next shots please?
It's kinda hard to see detail with a wall of stuff in back ;-}

i ordered the alex rims and hubs you used on your build. Can you give me link a link to the stainless spokes, so i can get them ordered thanks.

im guessing the spokes are 14 gauge at the rim so ill need 2.0x12mm nipples.

These were the nipples I ordered.

Also the spokes I got from [email protected]
He's the owner of wheels by fleming.

For the front I ordered single butted 13/14g SS
18x 260
18x 259
He includes brass nipples but I decided to go for the alloy red ones for the looks.

I need to dig my emails to get you the spoke lengths for the rear.

Please measure the rim anyway as sometimes there are variations.
I used regular motor oil at each spoke thread and nipple.

Used a YouTube video for lacing and they came out GREAt. I took em to the LBS and they checked tension and dish and it was spot on.

You are going to love those forks. I have had 2 sets and have one on my current ride. I'm digging those fenders for some reason! IMHO...I think a riser type handlebar would look better...just my opinion. Might be a little more comfortable as well.

The bike is really looking great! What engine are you going to use?

Ditto.

And nice job with a photo wall bud!
It really makes a difference in the detail we can see with your progress and it looks great!

I ordered a different headset and handlebar I just got desperate and wanted to mock it up.

For the engine I think I'm gonna go with a bicycle motor works racing engine. I'm trying to finish my build as a normal bicycle and then install the jackshaft and engine to it.

So i was trying to get my wheels built and had all the materials except the 13/14g butted spokes. Went to a bike shop and the mechanic there was a ****** bag. He made such a big deal about using butted spokes and said he only uses 14g and 13g does not fit in my hubs, I explained to him that the Iram hub has 3 mm holes and the shimano 2.6mm which seemed to piss him off. I then said the bad word and told him that I need the spokes stronger because I was using it on a motorized bicycle. Awwww man!!!! Motorized bicycle what did I just say.

He then went on a rant about how he does not work on motorized bicycles and bicycle wheels are not designed for that purpose. I guess I'm on my own and have to figure out how to measure the wheels and hubs and order my spokes and hen build the wheels.

I agree, this is a Very nice build so far... the riser type bars will definitely be more comfortable for everyday use , even some old moto cross bars with a rather low rise would take a lot of your weight off your wrists when riding but still look really cool.

That GT2 frame has the potential to be any kind of build you want from a low rider chopper with ape hangers to an off-road dirt bike.
Parts is parts.

I went flashy urban comfortable on my build.

It's a pretty short frame so I went with an extended gooseneck and handlebars that put it at a comfortable 'sit up and grin' height for a 6' guy.

A 3-speed nexus was perfect gearing for it, I got the colored wheelset with shifter in that yellow for like $125 delivered.

A shock fork with brake bosses is really nice and I'd recommend against triple trees, you let the fork slam against the tank and you compromise the frame too.

Just some tips and your work so far looks great.

I was out for a couple of weeks but when I got back I got all the parts I ordered and also ordered a racing motor that's supposed to arrive this week. Will post some more pictures tonight.

We're getting somewhere ! I got around to start setting up the brake lines and installed the engine. The SBP shift kit should be here soon.

Any suggestions for exhausts? I'm thinking of a KTM65 expansion with a silencer at the back, we'll see.

Pictures as always:

The KTM65 or KX65 will do really good and if you get lucky with the pipe it may go on with minimal modification like just making a flange with a short head pipe to weld up to.
Somebody was telling me their KX65 pipe went on without even needing mods other than welding the flange with about an inch of header pipe left on it to the KX pipe
