K guys! Heres some pics. Its not finished offically I still have some stuff to do but its RIDEABLE! Had the maden voyage tonight. Only a few blocks but far enough to fine a few things out . First it really doesnt want to run. I think I might have a vacume leak as the SBP airfilter really isnt designed to work with the AGK carb. I modified some parts to make it work. I'll track that down in the morning. Found out the front brake works great.

Yes Bill! We shall ride ( in style ) MBR: Yup; its the least attractive part on the bike... I am only now addresing that issue in my poor little mind :) Solutions will eventually come. As for running. It runs like crap. But at least its moving under its own power. Gonna take the intake / carb off and look for a leak this morning. If thats not the problem I'm out of ideas.

Man, that's pretty. Does it sound as good as it looks?

You've done excellent work, Velo. Congratulations.
Keep us posted on your engine woes. I have no doubt you'll get passed that small bump in the road.
As for the cover, I'd paint it to match the frame. It would blend right in with everything and look like it belongs there.

Thanks Tom! As for the EZM cover; I thought I'd just put some MISFITS and SEX PISTOLS stickers on it and call it good... Mabey Social Distortion too... laff

I got a Triumph "Decal" of sorts, that will knock your socks off :) Pictures later. Just took it for another ride post putting copper RTV high temp gasket sealer between head / spacer and carb. No change. Not making power or RPMs it's just bairly enongh for the clutch to engage and moves me along at about 10-15 mpn sputtering coughing not really interested in running and generaly unhappy. I have NO idea how to adjust carbs. Im gonna load it into the truck and take it to a local Kart small engine repair place close to me ( Roys go karts and lawnmower repair) They know what they are doing and I dont. I learned a long time ago its better to pay an expert for specialty work rather than go blindly and funk it up...

Good Lord, I remember back in the early 70s when Chevrolets came from the factory with these little plastic things on the carb adjustment screws. They would only let you turn them about 1/8th turn in either direction. The floor of the service area where I worked was littered with these little red and yellow plastic caps that we ripped off and threw away. And that was at a dealership. I can only imagine what the 'smog police' would do to us today.
Grind away, Velo. It's the only way you'll be able to get your carburetor to perform correctly and be efficient.

Truckd: Heres the Triumph badge on the bike now! Found it on the English ebay site. The rivits are the little heads of brass nails I whacked off and VERY CAREFULLY JB Welded into position. Held on with carefully trimed 3M double sided automotive trim tape. It looks cattywhompus in the third pic but Im fairly sure its an illusion. I will be sure to double check though with someone else holding the bike upright.

K guys: I modified my carb so that little screw can be turned now. Screw them EPA NAZI's :) Not at all sure what to do with it though. MBR you said use a bottem tap to bore something out? Would that be the little silver covered up thingy just to the right of that screw? (gigity) Something hiding under there???? PS: I ran the screw down to the bottem stop just to see. It was out exactly 2 turns. I put it back where it was.

Ignore what i said as that carb is the same style as the one that
comes with a Honda GXH 50
There is no adjusting screw under that cover.

The tabs you ground off limited your mixture screw to 2 turns out + or - 1/4 turn
which is where you want to be to start tuning your carb.

The SBP air filter adapter blocks some of the carbs holes and may not
flow as well as the foam filter and adapter from AGK

SO. Yesterday I took the bike to a friend who knows bout bikes and small motors He road the bike and agrees its sick. We put the #62 ( one size larger main jet ) as the spark plug came out whiteish with a bit of tan after about 5 min WOT under load. just running the motor WOT after the change NO load; just holding the rear tire off the ground it still didnt sound like it was making full RPM and was backfireing a bit; while at ummm; guessing here, mabey 4000 RPM. Ran out of time and weather so I had to stop for the day. Will go back monday. PS: Roys Go Karts and small engine in Mesa has changed a bit from the last time I was there. Run away from this place! Morons and A$$ wholes. *****y lady at the front had a big bruse on her face, and after speaking with her for about 30 seconds, I can fully understand why somebody popped her one in the mouth... The "mechanic" was almost as bad. Completly unhelpfull but he at least seem'd to have SLIGHTLY less attitude, still an A$$ and full of himself. Pretty cocky and arrogant for a guy that obviously didnt make it past 6th grade...

I like the head badge and it is just my opinion but I think your not getting enough fuel do you have a breather on the gas cap? a hole that create's an even amount of pressure for the gas to flow, knoingw you it does but check to see if it might be clocked, you might check the the spark plug wire for any breaks or contact points as well, but it's just an opinion

Nice build Velo. Our bikes are very very similar! Hope you get your engine problems figured out. It took me some tinkering before mine started to run smoothly. My biggest problem still is chain clearance with the 3'' tires.

Well. I think my motor problem is fix'd. Drained the gas and filled with a different brand of mid grade. No difference. Changed to the stock carb; ran MUCH WORSE! Back to the AGK carb, ran nasty. bout the same if not worse than yesterday. Whats left? Re adjust the valves... Guess I miss adjusted my valves OR they changed a bit after the first start. They were way out of adjustment ( LOOSE ) I'll do a plug chop tomarrow and see what it looks like but its pulling much stronger and reving to what I remember from riding azbill's Migari a while back when he still had the 49cc. It doesnt accelerate particulary well; but for 49cc and an EZM what the heck! Got it up to about 25 and could have gone faster but I have another problem. The sheive is NOT properly centered or else it slipped. I thought I had it right but then I THOUGHT I had the valves right too... I'll take it back to my bike building friend tomarrow. He has a wheel building / trueing stand; that and 2 extra pair of hands should make it easy. Also, I have a one off 1.8 inch small pulley on the front of the EZM; I think I'll switch to a 2" I have and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for all the help ans sugestions guys!

Man Velo, you did a great job on your bike!! Its a beauty, I bet it gets some looks huh? I always thought a cover like the one AKG sells for their jackshaft would look good on the EZ with some louvres or lightening holes. Again great job, How do you like the belt drive ride?
