I've read that there are lots of mods that needed to be done with the HT engines
But does the 2 stroke from thatsdaxs have the same issues.
I'd really like just to concentrate on building a motorized bike and not have to go through the engine. replacing bolts and studs and the likes

dax is similiaar to the other ones,,i replaced spark plug wire cause the stock one always falls apart,i havnt needed to tear down anything major, and you probobly wont have to either if you are not comfortable.
you proboly wont have to replace any studs as long as you dont over tighten them.
have you looked at pirate cycles 2 stroke kit?,i think its a bit cheaper and sais upgraded hardware,so that sounds like a good choice.i think they have good reviews too.

K, unless you buy a motor from a custom engine builder for top dollar you will probably not get an engine that has been gone through with optimal parts installed
Even then, a chinagirl is still a chinagirl.
Everything about them is suspect.
The major selling point is price.
Good luck

I'll second that!! Call for vote.
Actually you can do some mods as far as the studs (very inexpensive), and it doesn't take a garage full of tools. If I did nothing else I'd replace at least the engine mounting studs, throw away the acorn nuts and replace with locking nuts. Oh and along with the plug wire and cap.

I also concur with this advice, but I'll add that a consideration is after sale support. Some of the cheap ebay sellers are here and gone whereby the more reputable vendors will be there for you in the event you encounter problems with your purchase.

Dax sells a lot of other stuff, including 4 stroke in frame mounts, and friction drive kits with pocketbike engines. Skip the happytime all together and save a LOT of time. Plus, the dax kit will let you swap motors with 4 bolts, instead of the motor being part of the drive system (like the happytimes with the integrated chain drive).

I will say I have bought a couple of kits (from thatsdax) and didn't do a thing. Just ran them. No problems for thousands of miles.

It just depends on what you get (luck of the draw).

HAHA, I just love that. I'm gonna have to build a Chinagirl 2 Popper next time. My 4 stroke Huasheng is boringly dependable. On the one hand that's great. On the other hand, I believe a 2 stroke would spice things up.

I plan a 4 stroke build in the future myself, I plan to do an in frame HF 79cc with a CVT drive.

I really like the China Girls (HT's) and plan to always have one no matter what else I have, there's just something about them that a 4 stroke doesn't deliver.... some good some bad.......but always a lot of 2 smoker screaming fun..!

Sometimes they do spice things up, and then sometimes they just need a cat to come along and bury them....LOL

I've always been a tinkerer and mad mechanic with many things so the HT's are right up my alley, I have all three of mine working very nicely.

2 of them have several mods, and one is a BGF that is bone stock internal but I've upgraded the mounting hardware, replaced the plug & plug boot with a good NGK rig & added the RT carb. from Duane @ ThatsDax, 500+ miles and running great on this one.

Peace, Map

laff

Had to peddle once when I ran an HT too lean on a 15 mile round trip, she gave up the ghost about 200 yards from my front door..........wow, I got lucky on that one could have been as much as a 7 mile peddle back to the house.

I've made several trips ranging from 15-50 miles round trip without ever having a failure.... It could happen some day though.......LOL!
