See, if his van breaks down he doesn't have to walk. He can take down a bike and ride to the nearest service station. Somewhere in the USA there is:
- a whole town full of stranded, angry cyclists.
- a hardware store that sold out of clothesline in a day.
- the wife of a husband who has a small backyard and has no idea just how ticked off she is about to become.
- a mechanic who is about to offer a quote on new springs and shocks for a full-size conversion van.
- a bicycle shop that is about to do some brisk business, either buying or selling parts.
- a police officer, shaking his head, adding up the violations, and wondering if he has enough tickets left on the pad he's using.
- any combination of two or more of the above.
