Any one following this thread form the midwest wishing they could Justify the trip out?

I am seriously thinking about making the trip from Michigan & would love to share the expenses & driving time out & back....I have camping gear & a ford ranger pick up & room for a nut case motorbiker to go have some fun with.

The trip for me is 2100 mile one way, so were looking at $800 in gasoline round trip. Any players out there?

It's still 50 days to go to the event.

Welcome back Neil... Looks like you are doing a good job promoting the race. Am I going to have to build a mini bike also to race in that class also? I would and have been looking to do that...just let us know if that is going to happen. Not sure if we have enough time in the day to race all the classes... It's your call and I will follow.. CCC

Hey guys, I'll be out again this time and am syked this track is a little closer to me and also ALOT closer to one of the best off roading areas in the world! Well at least it is to this east coast boy that now lives on the RIGHT coast! I'll be bringing some dirtbikes and quads, I was wondering if anybody else rides and wants to hit up some riding on Sunday? Yes, I do wish I had an electric dirtbike to AGAIN spank the pants off some gassers on Sunday, maybe next year... J/K I had a good time at Willow Springs and expect even more from this event. I also plan on getting hammered with Neil before the race. LOL

Just wondering about the safety gear, can I get a list of all those so I can prep ahead of time so I dont show up there, see the list then, and find out I need elbow pads??? Can I just wear a leather jacket and some good quality levi's?
If you are wearing a good quality leather jacket you don't have to wear elbow pads over it. If you race without the leather jacket you would be required to wear elbow pads.
Levi's would need knee pads.

Required Safety Equipment;

DOT rated helmet or better like Snell. No bicycle helmets. No novelty motorcycle helmets without DOT certification.
Eye protection.
Gloves. No bare hands.
Knee and elbow pads or full leathers or Motocross gear
Long pants, no shorts or exposed skin this time please.
Ankle covering footwear or boots.

A DOT helmet is required by California law to ride a gas powered
motorized bicycle or Moped on the streets.

Fire extinguisher.

The pit road speed limit is 5 mph and will be enforced this race.
