Ive been looking for a 49cc just the motor and they have disappeared from eBay and other places. It look like they are getting phased out in favor of the illegal 66's. Not a good idea. I contacted Ricky Shi at BGF, he doesn't have any!!! This is not good at all. He is arguably one of the largest sellers of bike kits.

It just shows the Chinese don't give a flying turd about American laws. Yeah, we think we're getting away with something...something that could blow up in our faces:(

Well, they do list kits but I just want a motor. Ricky Shi from BGF sent me an email. He has a few left(I just hope they're not returns :p )

This will be Boise States year for the National Championship :) Kellen is a senior and his little brother, best High School wide receiver Washington state has ever had, is off his red shirt year. With Cam the Scam gone this wiil be Kellen's year for the Heisman. too :D

Of course, this all depends on the NCAA who screwed our basketball team over. 20 wins and no tournament? Not even NIT? B EFFING S!!!!!

Ya can't judge overall pricing or availability during the spring rush, the sudden increase in demand skews everything as the domestic retailers grab any opportunity to increase their profit margin yet simultaneously fail to ever have enough in house stock, it's quite common during this time of year to see engines of all makes/displacements become far more expensive and/or temporarily unavailable w/all sortsa rumors & excuses flying.

Now, if there was a sudden disappearance of an engine type w/o promises of restock and/or a major price increase midwinter - then I'd raise an eyebrow lol ;)

Raw doesn't have either 48cc or 66cc MO for sale, they were up there last month when I was looking at them though... Gonna have to make a phone call and check it out.

I got the 49 cc I was looking for. Of course the G** D****d thing won't run :(

Tested it out, bad magneto coil.

Grubee is a lost cause. They don't answer emails at all, probably due to flooded inbox from disgruntled customers.

Great Magneto Mystery As far as I can tell this is a complete lie, no one has seen one.

So I have two motors with bad magneto coils with no options....except dumping the Chinese crap and going Italian.

For now, though, it's scrounge the money to get a new CC(Chinese crap) magneto coil.

Whoop dee doooo.....

I hope you're not right about this-

although I probably won't order any more 49 cc- my 66 definetly has more power

But the small one works nicely on a cruiser with lightweight 700c wheels- everything is light- I have to take it up and down a flight of stairs-

and with a 41 tooth sprock- it moves along pretty well- I haven't really gotten it broke in yet- it feels a little safer than my 66 screamer, and a little less noise. I got the kit shipped for $105 before the prices went up.

These motors were out there for decades I think- while the bikes were all heavy with heavy wheels- now the frames are lighter and you can go with lighter and better riolling wheels, they've been displaced by the heavier and more powerful 66.

I think most of the average riders here who pedal little, and who favor wider tires, get more what they want with a 66. People are generally heavier these days too.

Heh! I have BGF motors. The first 66 cc would not run and I lost last summers riding because of it. I had to return it for a motor that fired first try.

So I get a 49...same problem. This time I'm sure it's the magneto coil. I ran it to 500 RPM with a 1/2" drill and got 0 spark, same with the 66.
