I Just found out today from Roland that he has closed the doors on Spooky Tooth Cycles. As of last week Roland close the doors and will not reopen until he finds a buyer for the whole shop, website and all including the Subaru Robin in frame project. This is a sad day for me as Roland has been one of my suppliers. You can call the Spooky Tooth number but all you will get is a recording saying they are closed for inventory plus the website is down. Here is a cut and paste quote from Roland to me:

HI Terry,
Sorry, it already happened. I closed the shop down and am not taking orders for any parts from anybody. I shut it down last week. Just looking for a buyer now. Please take off any products that we sell from your website.

Stay well friend. Roland

Yeah this is a sad for all of us who are involved with Motorized Bicycles. Roland and Spooky Tooth did so much for us then anybody really knows.

Roland is a real cool guy and a good friend and I wish him the best of luck. Thank You Roland for all you have done.

One thing we can look forward too is Death Race that Spooky Tooth help get started. Death Race is alive and well and we will continue to have the largest Motorized Bicycle event in the United States.

Thank You Spooky Tooth Cycles

That was an awesome reply Dave if I get enough replies like that one I am going to send him the link to this thread. I would be great to let Roland know just what we think of him and how much he has meant to motor-bicycle movement.
Thank you Dave

Its to bad they/ he can't make it. Bisbee is kind of out of the way and a tough place to live. "poverty with a view" like Flagstaff. Hopefully someone can step in buy the place and move it to somewhere with more possibility for success. These guys have been great and have done so much for us motorbikers, I wish them all the best and hope they are successful at whatever comes next.

I've been messin' around with motorized bicycles for about 3 years...

When I first got started; Roland was one of only a very few people that I could call for help and advice. This was a market I knew absolutely nothing about. He steered me in the right direction.

Best wishes to Roland and the folks at Spooky tooth cycles.

Jim

I have known Roland for 4+ years,,,
azvinnie and I have even broke bread with him in a really funky, bohemian type, cafe ;)
a very cool guy in person and always helpful with advice
even if Spooky is sold and re-opens,,,Roland himself will be missed by the many of us who know him :(

Good Luck my friend (^)

Hi Azbill, a little off subject here, but looking for a heavy monarch style front end, we already purchased the one available out there for about $125 but really looking for a heavier one or true vintage, or the leaf style forks as Halcyon was working on. Any connects? pic of the boardtrack im building with 1949 Whizzer motor

Yes that is true spooky Tooth is for sale so if he finds a buyer the doors will re-open but it will never have the same feel to the store that is for sure. Now we just need to find some one with enough money to buy the place

Yes, this is bad news for us........Roland really had some cool parts and is very helpful and personable. He and Spooky will be missed for sure. I was wondering why the parts section on the website weren't there last week. I hope all goes well for him and keeps on riding! Here's a pic of the "pineapple", installed today:

Oh man that is terrible. I talked with someone over there at Spooky Tooth a few weeks ago named Chris I believe and he refunded a PineApple adapter that didn't work out for me. At that point he said they were closing down temporarily. Things must have changed. They were a good group for sure and had some great products and knowledge.

A sad day for motorbicycling indeed. I've bought quite a few of their products and I loved browsing their site making my wish-list. In fact, I had set-in-stone plans to buy a few more things that they had at the best prices. But I guess I will have to get that stuff somewhere else now.

I'm with Rebel, If I had the money I would jump on it. I've always loved the Southwest and would move to Arizona in a heartbeat if something were there for me to do. Alas I am broke.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more post on this thread. This is defendant bad news for the motor bicycling community. Roland was always a stand up guy and did a lot for motorized bikes, particularly in Tucson. I live about 40 min from his shop and if you ever had the pleasure of seeing it you would be in for a treat. I always get a smile on my face when I see all that motored bike stuff crammed into that old building. I hope the death race will be a long lasting legacy of spookytooth. Maybe there could be a Death race smiley made or something.
