Thanks Norm for the kind words. I finally picked up my 56 tooth King's Sales Sprocket today. I plan on changing my gear ratio before this weekend comes around. I'm hoping the Mrs. will let me go riding up in the Santa Cruz Mountain this weekend.:ride:

Easy I installed a motor mount like you have under the engine picking up the bottom bolt. I made it up and welded it to the frame, what a difference, it took about 1/2 the vibration out of the bike. I will get a pic of the mount on the bike. Thanks Have fun, Dave

Nice Dave! Taking the vibration out of the bike makes a world of a difference. The new forks made a huge difference in taking out the small bumps out and the vibration out of the bars. The new 56 tooth sproket gave it great low end all the way up to 35mph (where it peaked out). It should make it fun for this weekends trip...if I can sneek out!

I want to thank my riding buddy Dean Maro from Pipelyne for helping me get the sproket and tank mounted in record time. These are the bikes:
Team BoXer's Full suspension bike on the left and mine on the right.

This is a pic of the mount. It is like the one you had on the Happy Time bike of yours. I will clean it up later, I want to paint the bike also but I like the used look. Have fun, Dave

Easy, I can't get too close to the welds, I'm getting old and I can't see in the hood, one of the young lads I work with was commenting about them, I think if I did more welding I would get better. Ill try and get some more pics. I was thinking of adding some plating to the steering head, and stiffen that up. Have fun, Dave

Easy I took some more pic's of the bike, I am liking the bike more than I did before I put the motor mount on. I am going to try and get a stiffener over to the head. Ill keep you posted. Have fun, Dave

PS: This bike was dumped in the park, that I work at.

Looks good Dave. You lucked out finding that bike because it doesn't look like a cheap one. I was going to tell you to add a top mount bracket but it looks like tank is in the way. I wish I could install a tank like that on my bike. How big is it, 1.5 gallon?

I am still fascinated with the George Wyman bike of 1902 and I would like to have something that looks like it, this is as close as I can get. I got the tank from Dax but he is out of them now and It looks like they are not getting any more. It will only fit a frame like this. The problem I have had with this frame is that it is so large that it gives the engine a lot of tubing to shake, and it makes it hard to get it to ride smooth. Have fun, Dave

HI Easy,

I was reading earlier in this thread that you locked out the rear suspension because it didn't work right....what exactly wasn't working right?....I hope it isn't a design flaw or something because I recently bought a GT LTS frame like yours for my next build....

Thanks!

Andrew

PS - I think I'll have to rig up a chain tensioner in case the chain gets too slack when the suspension compresses....

Andrew, The chain slacks too much during the suspension travel. One of the pivot arms needs to be moved to the center of the motor sprocket. I think if your using Pablo's Jackshaft kit you won't have to worry about moving the pivot arm. I think this frame is idea for the Jackshaft. I was going to use one but I would need to fabricate another bracket. Also I feel a little hesitant to use the thin bike chain for the 5.8hp motor (soon to be upgraded to a 9.4). However, I think you should be fine if you’re using a HT. Hurry up and get that project going Andrew and don’t forget to post pics!

HI EZ,

That's what I thought was the issue...the chain slack...I did buy a kit from Pablo so maybe the derailleur will take care of all that....

I was going to put Pablo's kit on a disc brake bike I recently picked up (I bought the bike to tinker with the Top Hat adapter) but when I ran across the frame like yours with the full suspension....well I just couldn't resist...I'll have to wait another week or so until it gets here (unfortunately it was a bare frame more or less so I will have to start searching for things to make it a bike...luckily I have a few "donors" around.....still have to get the fork tho....

I'll definitely post pics!

Thanks!

Andrew

I would think so.....since I am going to run Pablo's shifter kit on my full suspension bike I am thinking (hoping) the rear derailleur will take care of any slake issues....I think to test it I will build the bike and remove the shock and cycle the rear suspension and see how the chain behaves....

I have been debating about building a spring loaded tensioner for my other bikes....so much to do so little time! ;-)
