Finaly my motor kit showed up , as soon as my employees left I tore that motor down an cleaned it up spic an span wasn't too bad from everything I have read here just minor things . Needless to say I had to try an hang it in the frame just to see what issues I know I am going to have .
I am going to have to add a tube behind the motor to carry it an the shift kit , an possibly have a freind make a shim for my exhaust to get a lil extra clearance , maybe I could just cut the pipe an make a custom exhaust , any suggestions would be helpfull because I have been wondering how a longer exhaust pipe would effect the motors performance
So here are some pics an there will be many more to follow , this build is finally underway !

That looks like it will be a nice bike when done. My first thought when I saw your first pic, why have it all the way up front? If you must fabricate a mount anyway why not make a custom mount for the front of the motor. Using the standard SBP shift kit mounting system on the seat post tube seems, to me at least, like it would be the easier option.

Either way I'm looking forward to seeing a finished product.

You gentelmen win I see the advantages of a more rearward mount, my only concern was to keep chain lengths to a minium since I already had a problem with the drive chain slapping the frame now an then before I got the bright idea to motorize it . still gonna have to do something with the exhaust tho gonna be awful close to the street.
Half the fun is overcoming the problems !

As for the exhaust, some folks 'round here have cut the pipe and then used a flex hose to connect the two ends, with the muffler back out of the way.

Just so I am sure I understand should I use a flex line like one for a gas stove ? an inabout 15 mins going to try an fit the motor an shift kit as far back in the frame as possible , wish me luck cause that frame gets considerably narrower as it goes back .

Mock up of the fuel tank an a couple pics of it , I cant wait to make this tank an get this bike in paint I had 4 colors come to mind an all I really know is it's gonna be a DAAAARRRRK one maybe a metallic , it's like a hot coal burning in my brain.
p.s. anyone know were I can find a filler neck ?

Have you thought about a black cherry metallic? A laquer finish on something like that looks amazing. Years ago I worked at a place that did powder painting, and we did up a customer's Harley frame and parts that way. In the sun it was a beautiful thing, black with deep red highlights.

When I built this bike initially the front end was holding it up too high , I was aware of changing its geometry but cut an rewelded the steering tube 6 degreesthen the front tubes with 2 degrees positive angle in them that ended up dropping the frame about 3 inches an got the pedals within 2 an a half inches of the ground. but yes I am reconsidering the front tubes maybe a lil shorter an no rake in them.

Did the final fab work this weekend made my chainguards for the right an left sides , an even figured out how to make a custom plug wire for the cdi ,its real easy I figured out the stock wire was just screwed into the cdi I honestly thought I broke it while I was fitting it up when the plug wire just fell out of it , imediatly I saw the screw in the plug reciever an started looking around my garage for the leftovers of a universal plugwire kit I had saved from a custom jeep I built for a customer .
making a plug wire is simple push on the boot crimp on the metal plug clip slide the boot back over it an screw it back into the cdi. The larger 8mm size of the new wire should seal nice an snug against the cdi.

That bike is looking awesome! Great job on the fab. I have a question for you on that spark plug wire, I just recently bought one from Autozone. 1 end has a cap to plug into the spark plug, the other end also has a smaller cap to plug into the distributor cap for a car. Do I just cut that end off and screw it into the CDI?
