Wrong piston

I ordered a piston and cylinder for my Flying horse 66/88 cc motor. The wrist pin hole in the piston is too high and the piston hit the crank, locking up the motor. I shaved 3/16 off the bottom to get it free but now the engine has no power. How do I make sure I order the correct piston and don't end up with the same one? What engine would have the same diameter piston but a different pin location? Thank you

it seems Alf has given you the proper information...

Now, why not try your hand at piston porting?
trace the intake port window on the piston skirt and cut a window in it.
I've heard elsewhere, where at least three mm should be left on the bottom of the skirt to prevent the piston from rocking.

and if you purchase that replacement as a cylinder with piston, you could experiment with the transfer ports and cylinder heigtht.

there is a .120 of an inch diff in the wristpin holes between the pistons for the GT5 and the gt5 superrat motors

So i read your thread and had the same problem.

I was wondering if you had any luck with shaving the bottom off. And if you had to do any other modifications to make it work.
