well... my wife is a little bit jealous of it... because i spend so much time and money on it... but she wants one too. Unfortunately, she does'nt know how to ride. Gotta teach her one of these days. I'm planning to build her a full suspension low rider. She says the MB is better. Keeps me off other women. :)

She always gives me the support I need, like when I bought my first R/C Nitro Monster Truck... :)

Boys will be boys... :)

every girl i know just sneers and says, "nice moped."

some secretly think it's cool, and i see women driving around checking me out, but none of them have ever offered me a "dear penthouse..." moment.

i do know this british girl that really likes my bike. but they're used to riding crappy mopeds over there, and she's married.

so, to most orange county california girls, i'm a 40 year old loser without a car...

ROTFLMAO too... I just looked at this thread again and found some very funny lines in here:

"I told my wife that I want to motorize my bike. You know that look you get when they wonder if you're ever going to grow up? I get a sneer and that 'your pathetic" look. It's funny I never dis her if she wants a new vacuum."

"Don't you know it's the duty of a wife to abhor you once you tie the knot?"

"i do know this british girl that really likes my bike. but they're used to riding crappy mopeds over there, and she's married."

"She is glad that I get to tinker with something and realizes that it is good for me. She doesn't want me to ride it or spend money on it."

I'm kinda like Norman.Once you build a bike that fits you with multi-speed (jackshaft with 3 speed Sram I-MOtion) expansion chamber,ect... Its kinda like the end of the road.I loved to ride my bike (when its not raining), but as far as building more bikes- Why? I've built so many different versions over the years. Two is enough. My dirt bike and my chopper that me and my little girl ride. Maybe, a stretch with the fully automatic 4 stroke 4 wheeler motor? See.... here I go again!

;) If it ever quits raining, I'll bring it up there to see if it gives you "the bug".

My wife is mostly concerned about safety of going so fast on a pedal bike. I told her I routinely hit up to 30 on the bike before the engine so I don't think it's to bad, yeah it'll hurt if you go down at anything over 10 mph, shoot I got scraped up going 5 or less when my handlebars got tangled up in some bridge girders passing some folks....

She is ok with me trying to save $ on gas so it's cool and since I'm going to be using it strictly for commuting, setting up the bike for that is a no brainer. All in all she's ok with it all. I've been riding minibikes and motorcycles for 40+ yrs so it's not new to me and I do have decent gear. I'd prefer a 4 stroke but can't see spending the extra dosh until I wear this engine out since the cost per mile is only about 50 cents more/gal.

Ride on!.shft.

1. you waste to much time in the shop, come and watch tv with me!
2. your going out riding that thing again! come and watch tv with me!
3. How much did you spend on that thing? Turn off the laptop and watch tv!

She is cool but she would be very happy if we were joined at the hip!
Riding up to the house she said to the neigbor " He's a nut but he is my nut"(still not sure how I feel about that).
She doesn't ride due to health issues, but I built a 3 wheel elecrtic and will get her on it this spring.
I took this picture of her on my bike and use ti as backgroun on my computer(won't admit it but she likes that).
Had the same picture put on a tee shirt (says that she dosen't like it but points it out when I wear it)

My wife loves it when I spend money on my bikes because she uses it as an excuse to spend a little money herself. She has actually ridden a couple of my bikes and she likes them and wants me to try and find a good 24" and build her one. She's tiny and can't reach the ground on my 26 inchers. We want to take a couple of bikes on vacation to panama city florida this summer and ride them up and down the strip beside the ocean. We'll see.

I wish my wife would really want one. The problem is that every single thing that I have ever bought her in the past, she takes and puts in storage! Once it becomes hers, I can't even touch it. Such an odd camper! She wanted a new bike, so I bought her a really nice mountain bike and she got on it, rode about 20 feet, said "It's nice, I love it" and it's been in storage ever since!

So with that said, there is no way I am going to build her something unless I know for a fact she is going to use it. I'll just build myself another one!

Hiker472,
Good idea, find the MB she likes best. Build it, let her use it, if she really likes it you won't get it back!

Good luck, Rus.
I hope she likes the electric trike. Keep us posted and thanks for sharing that photo. Tell her for us that she looks great on that bike and the leather jacket goes good. :)
