You can drill the the mounting holes slightly bigger on the muffler to move it away from the pedal, then add flat washers and removable loctite. I've done that before.
 
If it's pedal lever clearance that your after don't move the motor, work on the pedals or buy some "dog leg" pedals or heat and bend your pedal levers if the are made of steel. Don't attempt to bend alloy or cast levers they will crack and break.

Some vibration is normal with these 2 stroke motors. Your motor mounts should be tight but if you over tighten you will strip the threads in the engine block.

Make sure your motor drive chain is straight and in line with the rear sprocket, if it's not you will feel some vibration & eventually the chain will break or jump off the sprocket & that's bad. Straight chain lines also allow full power to transfer to the wheel. If your not running wide tires you should be able to run a straight chain line without the chain rubbing on the tire even when using a rag joint wheel to sprocket connection. 2.125" or narrower tires usually work great with motorized kits & cruiser style frames.

A close up photo of the area that you suspect is causing problems really helps forum members answer questions and give advice.

Check all the electrical connection to the cdi and kill switch, also check the spark plug boot, some boots that come with the kits are very cheaply made.
 
Greg thanks for pointing out these areas of concern. Though it may not be a problem on the bike in question, the kit kill switch is something I never use anymore. They have been my number one electrical problem up until about 4 years ago when I nixed their use on my bikes. Maybe I was jinxed but the kit kill switch especially and the throttle assembly in general seems to be a poor design & constructed of exceptionally shoddy materials.

In most of the cases that the kill switch was the problem it was intermittent in nature which made trouble shooting difficult. Taking it out of the circuit was the quickest way to determine if indeed it was this little switch with no known father.

redddsee thats what i was thinking...just drop clutch to kill motor...i was worried itd wear out those lil pads quicker but heck...yeah turns out in my silly customizing attempts...and trying to keep wires from exhaust
one pulled loose. pissing off neighbors again..haha..but my mode to work is working. happy day

A grad, yes respect! Big day for him and your family. You'll make a splash riding up on the bike.

I typically kill mine with the choke and a blip or two of the throttle, kills the motor & choke is set for the next start up. I've never had a China girl that would cold start without choking.

I'm not really cool, just old! We refer to these little two stroke engines as China girls 'cause they're made in China, but I follow what you mean connecting David Bowie and "China girl"...now that's cool.

ok figured out why china gal dying after a bit...lil choke lever vibrating open...killing the motor ...to much ox...now i could ride one hand and hold lever down...but i'd rather not...any clue size of that tiny bolt that tightens it...was gonna use grip pliers but eeeww..thoughts?

I don't use the kit carb, but read that others had the same problem & switched to a better carb because of it. I'll see if I have one lying about but don't imagine they can be tightened. it's probably a press fit...saved them a penny to manufacture. Frustrating I know.

so to fix choke arm..tried a few half butt ideas...ended up with getting her idling...then take a bent paper clip hooked to arm then to spring around clutch heat spring. haha...geez what have i become :P
i refuse to pedal to work when gal sitting right there
