  • I ordered $250 in part from Staton in September.
He charged my account and never sent the parts.
In October, he emailed me about a part needed work before shipment.
After that, he won't return my calls or emails.

Buyer beware!

I'm working with the Better Business Bureau in Ok now.

Rats!

If paid on CC or PayPal or something that offers resolution like these, they issue immediate temporary credit back, then can take up to 2 months to finalize. Hope you get things squared. Also just my 2 cents on BBB, I'd be inclined to go to government state agency for consumer affairs instead.

No. I used my credit card.

Staton emailed me today, saying I needed to choose between a 36h and a 48h wheel hub.
He claimed he emailed me many times and I didn't respond.

I never ordered those wheel hubs, and I never got his emails he supposedly sent.

I told him I wanted my money back.
I had to order parts from another vendor to finish the bike.

Waiting for Staton to respond.

I didn't use PayPal.
Staton emailed once, said they had machining problem.
By the time I contacted CC, it was too late to resolve.

I have complained about a purchase on CC a little over 3 months past purchase date and then it took about 2 months to resolve in my favor.

I checked on the web page for Stanton and their multiple fees for canceling, but keeping track of all info and maybe press CC again. Ask to speak with supervisor and then some. Your state website should also direct to consumer affairs. Buying on Ebay using Paypal one or both have protection. Then CC used for Paypal can be a third way.

I know I have in the past purchased an item from Stanton on Ebay and there was a problem with the part and got it resolved directly with Stanton. Sorry to hear how you describe your situation. Just keep on them.

Who is running the day to day affairs at Staton-Inc, David Staton or his son? Quite some time ago David at times was a little bit rash, that's OK, he was always straight forward, honest and knowledgeable.

I’ll reserve further comment until I cash the refund check.

He did offer me a10% discount on my future orders.

I am sorry to hear the amount of time you spent to resolve this. At times I think business people use their leverage on customers, even loyal long time customers, because many people are so busy with their lives that they don't have time to straighten out being ripped off. Thank you for communicating
this unfortunate situation.

zean, thank you for your kind words.

The parking lot where I rent space changed management in December. After paying on time for YEARS, I paid for January by mistake. After several emails, texts and emails, they said the check will be in the mail by next week.....maybe.

Here we go again.:(

The check cleared.

Then I ordered a special sprocket; it arrived in time.

I'll probably order two more sprockets.
The reason I order from Staton is that they're the correct size.
They're also drilled and bored to bolt on freewheels,
and they're reasonably priced.

I'll make small purchases from now on.

That way, I won't get bent outa shape if there's a major issue again.
