Looking forward to it, scotto, easy rider and the few others that show up and hangout Friday night. Oh, and looking forward to racing Saturday!

Problem - got myself into a mess with rebuilds on both bikes. Looks like the old thumper isn't going to make it. Ignition just won't spark!
The 2-stroker has a new rear wheel and other parts in the works and that's the problem. New parts might not be ready in time.

Who knows what I might bring to ride.

Gilbert, you're famous!
Here's the poster designed for the upcoming SoCal Motor Bicycle races.
Let me know if there's interest in having a printable file for local promotion. Neil has files too.

BTW - make it Friday if you can.

Brian

Good Evening Everyone,

Is this race still happening? I guess Neil doesn't post much here anymore.

Just wondering who all is planning on coming. I plan to attend, still trying to sort out engine choices. Trying to get a briggs flathead engine back together and running proper.

Hope to see and hang out with the regulars,

Gilbert

I feel honored to be on a poster for the races!

That is a super cool poster you made Brian, it reminds me of an old 50's or 60's movie poster for some motorcycle exploitation movie.

I would love to get a poster size copy of that to hang up in my shed/shop.

I am thinking I might make it my personal mission to first get the racers numbers who finish in each final heat, then try to match them up with names, and then post the race results here. Not making any promises, and might prove difficult in my own class, but I will try.

Not really my place to take this over, but I like to see the placing all the way to last for each class, just seems to make sense.

I'm probably going to miss this race too because I've got a bunch of stuff I need to get done around the house before I go under the knife on November 5th. I might lend my bike to Flash Breezy (Chris) if he's going.

Come on Ken, this race is going to be a good one, lot's of new racers coming
especially in the renamed Beginner china girl class.
Might have to run 2 heats for that class.

Have motorized bicycle racers coming from St Louis and elsewhere.
Goped racers coming from Florida and all over California.

Yes, Chris is definitely going along with even more Goped and GoQuad
racers than the May Grange race.

Weather looks perfect with Friday 17th and Sat 18th at 78* to 76*

Also Friday OCT 17th is booked for race practice and fun track practice
from 9am until dark for only $20.
Go karts are welcome on Friday.

Spectators and racers pay a $10 gate fee and it's probably going to be $35
to race in one class,
2nd class is only $5.
$10 gate fee is good for the whole weekend.

No charge to camp Friday and Sat night as usual.

I really want to go & especially check out Jeff's new 5 speed KTM but being short staffed at work and having so many projects that I need to finish before my double knee surgery is putting a damper on my "ME" time. I just have to prepare the house for not being able to walk around for a month.
Good news is, I spoke to Chris today and he will race my bike that weekend.
With all the new racer, this should be fun one to attend!

It would sure be be nice to see Neil reply in this thread.

He has been MIA since June 16. That is the last time I had a reply to a call or e-mail.

Any of you guys in CA seen him lately?

I don't want to make that drive for nothing. It is about a month away, and I should start pushing the local riders if there is a race.

I will be bringing manifolds & flanges with me if anybody wants to buy some in person.

B.
Hi Brad
I replied to your email and did not hear back from you.
Please give me a call.

Scott from Silver State Cycles sent me a text that all their crew will be
coming as usual.

Scott bought up the fact that we will have too many Beginner China girl
racers to run them all in one heat on the half track.

Bring lots of manifolds and flanges to sell.

these races are a real treat for anyone who enjoys any type or racing, its right upfront and everyone is friendly and willing help or just advise and talk to you. and if you want to get real close to the action you can be a flagman for as many races you want. some flag person would need a restroom break and would gladly hand the flag over to you. i was starting to think that brown had killed neil but i'm glad to see that didn't happen to our friend, he puts a lot of time and money for us to have a good time and he has not failed us yet. see you their! dennis

You got 3 to 4 days to get your **** together for the lucky 13th SMBR extravaganza.

Bought 4 walkie talkies out of the $5 racers yearly membership fees for
the Oct 18th race.
Going to save a lot of running around, make my life a lot easier and the
race safer.

Bring your walkie talkies to the race! I know you have them. :)
