Did you even watch the whole video? He doesn't need to touch the bike to question the claims they are making for this bike. He clearly explains the reasons for his and other people's questions and concerns and backs up each comment with facts based on what really exists and is available.
In your next posts and others you seem to think that just because they have raised so much = success. There is a BIG difference between a kickstarter raising funds and delivering on their promises.
I'll bet you $10 right now that you won't have your bike before Sept, if then. (Nevermind, I don't want to bet against you, I hope you get your bike and it works out great) In May you'll hear excuses on how the huge number of orders forced them to adjust their plans and delivery dates, yada yada yada. Then they'll stop answering questions.
The claims they make for range and charge time simply don't exist for a low cost Li battery. The bike frame of the Storm is very close to that of the Mongoose Beast, that bike weights nearly 60 lbs (with no battery /motor), they claim the Storm (steel frame) ebike weighs 45lbs? Don't think so.

Ive owned a Curry Ezip and that totaly is what got me into the ebike world to begin with, I managed to snag mine for $80 at a walmart, previously marked down to 180 from 500,no batteries though, so that was another 50 off amazon.
I rode that Bike into the ground. I can say that I Got what I payed for all right. an $80 bike. The rear wheel barrings came out on me one day when I was about to start my 7 mile treck home from work... worst walk ever.
It Managed its claims of 15mph top speed, but was honestly just for negating the hills I encountered on my rute. Kinda loud, Didint bother me though .I wore a Full face Motorcycle helmet so I couldnt hear much. And Its Range Was 7 miles, If I felt Particularly lazy I could just ride if I really wanted, But usually peddled.

Knowing what I now know about hub motor vs driven, Id much rather have the hub. So much quieter!
Knowing what I know about Curry Ezip, I would prbably go out of my way to not ride one, but only if I could help it. They still go, Just the two we got were poor quality I guess.


Ive engaged in 2 seperate Funding Projects, First for my Bullpup SKS stock, the second for a heaping helping of 12 sided D6 (Dodecahedron with 1-6 pips on it twice).
When I ordered My Stock kit, They were in the developmental phase, still needing to make dies and whatnot, ended up taking 4 years...
Dice, ordered october 2013 on kickstart.... they are finally entering finishing stages now... Maybe?, you would not belive the amount of hangups they hit This far:P

What do you mean by driven, both the ezip and storm pictured are hub motors?
And yes, the Curry bike is cheap and I wouldn't buy it but out of the 2 only 1 is offered by a existing company, comes with a warranty, and you can buy today.
 
Since I always name my motor bicycles, I thought of the perfect name for this bike.

Ah, The two we got were Chain driven Brushed motored bikes, But they were supah cheap :P
and if you know the right people, 80 bucks is hard to pass up on for something that will get you there :)
 
That's right. Izip has an external motor bolted to the axle, with a short chain drive running a sprocket on the rear wheel.

I'm still not knocking it, because I've met a couple people that were happy with them, and got good service out of them.

A direct drive hub motor is preferable though, because it's zero maintenance.

Kind of looks like something out of the 1950s though compared to a Storm.

I like it. Could be true too all things considered. It turned into such a mad house, I probably should just tell to give me a bike, any bike. I don't see how they can possibly let everyone pick a different color. we're surly going to be talking about over 10,000 bikes after 30 more days of sales.

This is historic.
 
A guy from Yahoo test rode one. He said that without pedaling, he was up to 20 mph in 50 yards.
That alone sounds like a pretty good sign.
 
The $499 price was raised today to $599 which dropped the sales from almost 1000 a day to about 40 a day but the big news was that all the buyers will get a free McDonald's happy meall toy with their Storm ebike! :D
