hi !

electronics schematics etc understanding to Common people is a Global problem. even that it aint that difficult at the end really. This sounds stupid reply from me, as we most of us know this is it.

but i want to Thank you and others providing input in this topic, as This is what ive been dreaming for past 15 years. To follow such an Topic and to learn and just repeat info from it that i knew already.

in other words nothing from this topic is for loss. being nooby or not nooby reader. ive been following this from summink page 5 beginning..

personally i own in my collection over30 2-strokes, so im loving this topic.

ps btw, does any1 happen to know a schematics source for Digital timing light ? ive found1 from US patent office... "digital timing light gun Snap-On tools US4713617"

any1 found something same around issue from motelek.net ,from Russia ? as they seem to have so much reverse engineered..

i have plans to replicate functions from Zeeltronic i.e digital timing readout indicator, for a magneto triggered ac cdi.

bye:)

hi, sorry to bring a old thread back to life.
The info on here is gold!
I did a cdi kit from silicon chip see:
http://archive.siliconchip.com.au/cms/A_110499/article.html

I saw this kit mentioned early in this thread, and was curious if that design is able to be modded to have an advance/retard curve for a 2 stroke?
any hints would be great :)

An RC network hung off of the SCR's gate will most certainly give you the capability to change the timing curve.

This is your typical RC network? (see circled in attachment)

Is the Electrolytic capacitor polarities correct in this diagram?
If so, why?

Glad to see you back rohmell, I came to this thread when you were AWOL.

Not sure if this has been covered,
And I have read through a fair bit, but 60 pages!
What timing light do you use?
My old timing lights seem to be broken, should get a new one.
But want to make sure it will be 'compatible' with my Ht Motors.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Been meaning to get around to ordering some parts for Cdi, but wondered about building a Timing light circuit while I was at it, if any one has any suggestions there?
Cheers.

We could design/have one built for us, but then everyone would scream at us for stealing someone's CDI design, when in reality NO one here or previously here had the original idea in the first place!

How much?
To get one of your adjustable Cdi's here to Oz?
I have a Honda TRX 250 (Quad) coil or 3 would that be alright?
Kit form would be OK, as would parts only.
But if reasonable I'd be happy to buy complete.
Wil any Xeon timing light do?

Hi everyone.

I have three ideas

Thank you for your attention.

Hi every one, is great what you share with us, i already building my own cdi but i cant find in México a 6v coil, can i use a 12V one? Thanks!

A 12v coil will work fine. See post #28, to see wiring for an auto type coil.
