Road Runner Encounter

As hard as it is to believe I do enjoy shutting the motor off and pedaling. We have miles of bike paths along the Santa Cruz and Rillito rivers.

While going along the Santa Cruz River path I came upon a Road Runner with a lizard in its mouth. Thought I'd share it..

That is the State bird over here.

Here is what happened just a 1/2 mile or so later and how I got my bike home...

Its been so many years since I have had a flat; I have gotten complacent and don't carry any tools, pump, spare tube, or patches.

I paid the price with a 3 1/2 mile walk home..

sucks that you got a flat.
so,do you plan on carrying tools and stuff after this?
i dont,except for my leatherman.
a friend gave me an ammo box (like new) to make a trunk for my bike.will have room for tools and a shot of spare gas.

Rats! I watched that whole vid waiting, but didn't hear even one "Beep-Beep".

According to all the cartoons I've seen that's the sound roadrunners make. Maybe it was hard to "Beep" around the lizard.

Yes I do plan to now!

I did carry tools/tubes ect. with me for so many years without one break down or flat. But its so nice to ride without having to carry anything with you.

But, I have been pushing my luck with very long rides a long way from home. A 3 mile walk was really lucky for me. If I had a flat earlier in the day I'd still be walking home.
