Phatmoto Right Pedal Striking Engine Pull Starter Solution

After a crash, I'm guessing that the crank arm is bent... Remove the crank arm & bang it straight with a hammer. ;)
I had worse clearance problems on my 212cc bike and even though I had the extended pedal shaft on the bike neither pedal would clear
the CVT housing or the engine. That was 2 years ago and I had a Oxy/Act torch but I ran out of Oxygen so I did manage to heat and
bend the pedal arms using a propane torch and used a lot of persuasion using a heavy hammer after heating them. The Oxy/Act
torch would have made it a lot easier since it could get it hotter for bending. I had to bend the CVT arm several inches just to clear
the housing.

I always use my bottles & torch to widen the one-piece cranks on my builds! (^) (I'm just guessing that this guy probably doesn't have access to a torch).

I first tried using MAPP gas and it has been changed and is now worthless a bottle of Propane is just as good but it takes a lot of heat to heat the
crank arms up but can be done I used a propane torch along with a propane camping burner to get enough heat just to get enough heat.
You can't beat using a combination of Oxygen/Propane or better yet Acetylene to do the job. Oxygen is the secret to reaching high temperatures.
A fella can do a lot of work on projects with a Oxy.Act torch setup! (^)

I have a 20 ton shop press that I can bent or straighten just about anything as long I can get it clamped in the right position. I also have a oxygen and acetylene torch set that I've had since the 80's but rarely use.
