This is a genuine Indonesian shed find. The motor is a friction drive MX-5, which I think was made in Taiwan. No, don't ask, they went out of production years ago.

The Maruuchi price depends on the market. I just saw one on an online auction went for 810,000 Yen, in Japan and in lesser condition.

This here 1950s Sunlight was in a Japanese arage, apparently not much cared for.

An oddity, even in those strange times. Aisan Spit, 25cc, a properly licenced version of the German Lohmann compression ignition engine.

95 year old owner Koichi Sasaki with a motor repaired after standing broken for 60 years. The frame is not the original. I think the engine is a Kawasaki as used by Meihatsu.

I do believe this is the exact same model as my Maruuchi bike! Same exact frame shape, handle bars and their setup, rod driven brakes, etc. Looks more modified than mine though
