Postwar Japan, the bike is probably wearing a Toyo 90.

Suzuki Diamond Free in a museum. Googlemangled from the original caption: "Over a period from 1956 two years, Shoji Yuji brother of diamond free Pat Takahashi it covered 32 countries 47,000km to Paris from Bangkok. It's had a such adventure bastard!"

Modern Chinese 60cc engine in Japan in an older style bike. Edit: the frame and tank appear to be a German Rex and this makes the third one I've found in Japan in one day. The question is whether some Rex bikes, or engine and fork kits were exported to Japan. It's probably unanswerable now.

A Chinese bike with a Chinese engine. Picture by a Japanese in China for some reason.

Hi Ludwig II and friends, here are some pics of the argentinian motor PAIT, one fitted on a bicycle and owners manual. Don't know anything else about it yet. My friend De Leon told me about it, wanna share with you.

Very nice pics, Ludwig II. It is very interesting the Type A Honda chain guard, so high, I never saw such arrangement. All models are very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I only just found the Hitachi, I couldn't identify it, but a collector in England sent the pictures of the red one. I don't think I'm ever going to run out of these obscurities.

The drive systems that were used were very "different" sometimes. It will not be a surprise if I find one that's hydraulic or pneumatic.

Yes, some arrangements builders tryed were completeley surprising, super "inventive", mainly in the 50's . About the hydraulic systems, recently i took knowledge of a hydraulic brake kit for bikes (!) from the 50's . Could I post the pic in this thread ?

I think it will reach more people more effectively in a build thread. Brakes are important, I'd post it there.
