need opinion on swapping 24 inch wheels on 26 inch frame.

I've been thinking of swapping for 24 inch wheels on my 26 inch frame. Would the bike look ridiculous? If I use a 2.4 inch tires on a 24 inch wheel then it would only be a 0.6 inch difference on a 26 inch wheel with a 1 inch tire. Not much difference. This came up because I've installed a 2.5 inch tires on my 26 inch tires, and had to remove the fenders or mud guards, because it won't fit anymore. It now looks like a 29 inch bike. Another thing, that I've been thinking is that if I use 24 inch wheels then it would limit my tire and rim selections. But then again, I would be able to install my mudguards again. No worries on brake issues, because I'm using disc brakes. Your opinion or any opinion is highly welcomed. Many thanks...

i've done it on a lot of bikes. it'll only look goofy if there's a big gap between the fenders and the wheel.

I wouldn't have it any other way on my race bike....

I put 24" on the tandem as well......do they look funny?

If it handles better, I really don't care what it looks like to be honest....:D

I've dont see it as any problem unless you don't use disc brakes.
I did it to my boxer and downhill eBike. They both handle better but you will lose a little bit of top speed.

Thanks guys and gals for all the input. Really appreciate it. My next build would definitely be 24 inch wheels on a 26 inch frame. I think i will just leave my 26 inch bike as is and find a way on how to put some fenders or mud guards of some sort... :)

I'd be concerned about pedal and crank clearance. You may find it quite dangerous in turns.
Shorter cranks can help this as well as fork selection.
