Les Miserable

While I was at it, I liked the look and affect so much that I painted the filter on my other Billesbach bike to match the bike color.

Took my ride to a motorcycle show in a town about 30 miles west of me today. Lots of really cool outrageous Harleys , and then there was my motorized bicycle ! I kind of figured I’d get laughter out of the show, but I was tied for 3rd for peoples choice(no trophy), but I did get the trophy for oldest bike ! I told them I considered it a 1949 based on the engine year. Had a great time and talked to many bikers who were blown away at the build.

It was funny talking to the lookers !! Some really thought it was a real bike from the early 1900’s. They were surprised when I told them that I just built it myself. One biker gal walked by and exclaimed “fricken E bikes”!! Everybody around just laughed, including me !

The best compliment I received was from a guy my age who used to have his own bicycle shop somewhere in Colorado. He used to build all kinds of custom bicycles and was still working on a mini bike in his garage. He had to really get close and look because he thought it was a early Boardtracker.
