Jackshaft made with pillow-block bearings. You can see a shiny hole on the 1/8" mounting plate which fits over a weld bead on the frame. The plate also has a semicircular cut-out on the bottom that the horizontal part of the frame insets into. These features keep the jackshaft assembly from twisting around the frame under stress.
Possibly a novel location to mount a tensioner/idler. The idea was to weld on the frame as little as possible.
I'm quite proud of this petcock-style 3-way switch.
