hub drilling

Need pict of the hub Mebbe? If there is enough meat at the hub it is totally possible. Most hubs seam a little unmeaty.

what he said ^ .

i drill out shimano coasters all the time. it's common practice in the bike biz. as long as it doesn't sacrifice the strength of the hub flange, it's no problem. same with rims.

Lately I've been using old Bendix coaster brake hubs and drilling them out. I just went to 12 gauge since that's what I had in spokes, but could have drilled them out for 11 gauge. As Bairdco said, same for rims.
And Bairdco, my friend, thanks for encouraging me to lace my own wheels. Half a dozen down the line now it is easy and a good feeling building my own.
