How would people feel about motor-bike troubleshooting mobile-app?

2-Stroke builds tend to break down -- a lot. I think it would be useful for inexperienced builders/riders to have a mobile app (well actually, just a website so you don't have to download it) that would help them fix their bike.

It would be like one of those car-fix-it manuals, where if X is wrong it sends you to page Y. Basically you open up the website when your bike isn't running and it gives you a systematic checklist to efficiently find the problem. For starters it would ask
1. Is there fuel/Is the fuel-valve set to open? Yes, go to 2.
2. Are all wires connected? Yes, go to 3.
3. Are you getting a spark? Click this button for a tutorial on how to check that. If no spark click this button for how to fix it. If there is spark go to 4.
4. And so on and so forth.

What do you good people think? I have a ton of class-work, but with help from the community I think this could be a great idea.
 
I think it's a pretty cool idea. I looked for a 2 stroke no-start flow chart and didn't find much. I know I've written down the process a number of times in random places but it would be nice to be able to post a link to a flow chart or a website that spells everything out.

Just remember, always start with spark. If you spill fuel while fiddling with the carburetor, you don't want someone making an external spark. I've seen too many fires from that.
 
Flow charts are great and can be added to and updated as needed. I like the way the charts stop you from continuing until you check things progressively. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten ahead of myself just to back up and start over. Even experienced mechanics can use reminders.
 
might depend a lot on whether user has a mobile device - I don't and never will

all that info is here on the board along with pics - maybe someone should volunteer to organize it into one clean & clear area

it is a bit annoying to see the same question over and over when the answer is already here maybe 100 times
 
I agree with crassius, it would be good to have a separate "Tutorials" section and have the topics boiled down to clear and simple instructions. It would take a lot of work but would be very useful.
 
Perhaps you could develop a phone APP as well as a lap top computer program for the riders that don't fancy smart phones.

I would think that the app builder would have to write/type out the flow charts. even amalgamating this information here and it being available for download would be helpful. All in one place. (^)
