Hi, fellas. Do u use bike rack? What kind do u perfer? In badly need of a nice bike rack. I'm confusing what to buy. You know it is my first time to do this kind of purchase. I've just looked into this bike rack.It is said to be light enough.
But the price is so high. Is it worth the price? Any thoughts and recommendations?

Let me fix that last link: Wheel Mount Bike Rack - 3 Bikes

I bought a Yakima 3-bike trunk mount rack that seems to be really nice. 6 straps on this one, and it holds well. I've only done a test run, but it was at highway speed on a rough road, and it stayed tight with one heavy bike on it. Mine was $60, on sale from $90, at Dick's Sporting Goods.

I just use the one I bought from KMART, bought it for 49.99+tax. I think any bike rack that holds at least 3 bikes should be fine holding your MB that weights 2 bikes and a half. My 2 cents

    Thanks

Years ago I built a trailer hitch mount rack to use on the VW Cabriolet I had at the time. I built it to carry 3 light Mt. Bikes and didn't even use a welder for it.....it was all just bolted together. Well just yesterday I broke it out to use for the haul to Death Race. This will allow us to bring 2 additional motorized bikes to the race. So in order to have some peace of mind, I welded some additional braces and tacked the whole thing up for the added weight. The rack cost me nothing as I made it out of stuff laying around and used Dad's welding rods and welder. It ain't pretty, but I think it will do the job.

The hangers that the bikes will rest on were made from 5/8" all-thread that I heated and formed the bends. They are bolted to the rack frame which I crafted from lengths of galvanized 3/16" channel inside of some smaller channel that fit inside the other to form a box channel by bolting them together. The hardest part was sliding the thin vinyl tubing over the all-thread for frame protection, then I slid hot water pipe insulation over that for extra protection.

build it yourself. I went to the metal store and paid $30.00 for the materials that I needed. I looked at what was available and the trunk mounted carriers use a thin metal and I didn't feel that would be able to hold a bike that weighed 60+#. I'm sure it could hold the weight sitting on the driveway, but when you start driving with the mb on the trunk it moves around and bounces and I felt that the carrier would eventually fail. the pic is from the Long beach to HB ride that we had on 4-3-11
