Hi Silverbear....Sometimes it takes the" in prime of your life people" a little longer to getting around to complete projects when playing around with several of them...all different from each other......Regards DD
Hi Intrepid Wheelwoman...Thankyou for the complements....Hope you have time to read through the build....I have had several people looked at the bike and cant believe its hand made....Regards DD
Hey DD, long time since the last time We talked.... Your build is....FANTASTIC!....Hope to see more!,when Your time allows. Ride safe!....Tigmaster....
Hi Tigmaster Sorry for the long time reply I havent been working on the Excelsior as I have another major project I'm trying to complete for our spring in November...Had to move it out of the workshop this morning so I shot a few pics ..will work on it in the near future ..not much to do to finish......DD
Oh what a beautiful motor bicycle! These days it is so rare to see a motorcycle that actually looks like a motorcycle and isn't buried under piles of useless plastic. Beautiful craftsmanship and an absolute delight.
Wow! DD, that's fun! I expected it to be louder? Those short tubes always sound like they are blowing bubbles. Those early motors sure had a choppy sound, suppose it was the long stroke? Compared, your's is smooth as silk. Nice.
Hi Moto pope.....The engine is 250cc ...125cc a side...couldn't expect it to sound like 1000cc....theres nothing like early 500cc plus motorcycle engines with open exhausts...I was always at the dirt speedway watching the solo's and sidecar sprint raceing in my younger days....most of the race engines we had here in 1940-50's were J.A.P 500 singles and 880 Vtwins.....DD
Hi Moto pope ...Heres a sidecar outfit from the 1950's warming up for a squirt on the dirt track....there are a lot of these being restored and run in a vintage class www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkG270ykF9M
Hope you enjoy it...DD
Wow, what an awesome build!
Could someone tell me on what page, or approximately what the date would have been when the topic of tying the peddles to the drive system would have been in subject? Thanks
