Earplugs ??

I run an open header, don't be complaining about stock engines being loud, you have no idea.

Wait till your 64 and cant hear even a bird sing like some of my friends -- i solved it by getting some larger diameter earplugs that really block the noise out.

I like the rubber ones on a cord, that come in the little blue round box for keeping in your pocket. I used to mow yards for a living. The engines aren't that terribly loud, true, but the constant exposure to them adds up. The ones I have are blue and don't stand out like the industrial orange ones. These work for hunting too. If I go to the GR or clay shooting though I wear the full ear muffs.

Walmart has bulk ear plugs, including the rubber corded ones like this.

Here is 10 pairs with boxes, for $8.75 Walmart.com: Maxpower Precision Parts 10 Piece PDQ Display Corded Ear Plugs: Safety Equipment & Gear

Usually though I am wearing a MC helmet, so that does plenty to cut down the noise.

My muffler self destructed on the way home. As the bike got louder the power increased. Wasn't to bad at cruise speed, howerver when you when you let up and gave it gas again ....
