Cranbrook Springer Forked BTR YD100 Replica Build (without fabrication)

Also, just found this for $30. Anyone know how old it is and if wider tires will fit it? Of course I would junk most everything but the frame.

still waiting on the seller to reply to me, but I believe this to be a Schwinn Traveler. 1950s or 60s era possibly. Still has the old headlight bracket on it. My research tells me it’s a 1.25” rim, which leads me to believe a 2.125” rim won’t fit, but I’m just guessing. Thoughts?

Found these also. I like them better but out of stock at MBRebel. I sent an email asking when they would be in stock.

Looking at these I am wondering if I could make them.

Lynn replied from MBRebel. Looks like they will not be selling the forks any longer.

eBay it is...

Yeah that is a 3 speed Traveler.
Folks bought me a 1963 Schwinn Typhoon. 2 speed Sturmey Archer didn't last but the frame and forks were indestructible. Can't say I didn't try. Most I have seen for sale were high. Tire size was 26x1.75

Well she’s no work of art and not completely square, but I made it and I bet it’s effective for a rear bike stand lol

I have a pair of these, 4 x 4" Magnetic Large Welding Magnet Holder For Up To 50lbs 45 90 135 Angles | eBay
I never used to weld. Generally, Tool and Die Makers farm out welding to specialists, but in the last ten years serving in a weld fab co designing and fabricating welding fixtures, becoming proficient with a MIG welder was necessary.
That a MIG arc does not reprogram my pacemaker which I have had since I was 55 is a blessing.
Trade secret, tacked on turnbuckles are great at rigid micro adjustable squaring tools. Once assy is welded and cool, cut them off for another day, Show us your welding surface/table.

I’ve got some magnets ordered, should be here soon.
And currently my work surface is the garage floor.

I do have access to some metal work benches in the family barn. One of those would be perfect. Just need to cleanup my small garage to make room.

Well the seller of the Indian replica forks on eBay offered me $10 off. Wonder if he can tell I look at them every day .

anyway, they may not be here till towards the end of April but they are ordered. Last one he had.

i’ll take the forks off the Cranbrook and save them for a future build. Got some ideas floating around in my head already about a Harley Davidson board track racer
