Hey guys,

When there is no choke, my bike starts right up, but it's top end is bogged down until I choke the carb a little bit, and then it tops out, but then the lower end takes a hit (no idle, etc.). I'm not sure what may be causing this.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Cody

usually if choking helps, you're too lean

I'd richen the needle a bit before messing with the main jet.

Richen the mixture a little with the needle before you mess with the jet. Mine did the same thing until it broke in a week or so, then it ran fine. Wait till it's completely broken in before you tune it.

I'm with Tom on this. These motors are almost always rich from the factory. Check for leaks, especially at the carb to intake manifold connection.

Hey guys,

My deepest apologies for my absence from this thread. I still have my issue. I have tried adjusting the carb needle in every position. There are no leaks. Can I pick your brains for any more potential troubleshooting? Perhaps a new carb all together?
