Building your own Gas Tank?

Just be sure the the tank is somehow vented.
That site says that their caps have "leak free sealing".
 
After reading of some who use garden hose caps and fittings I went looking at Lowe's and found a hose fitting cap that has fittings for a small copper line, a pre-vented cap as it were. To keep the gas from running out if I dump the bike I'll be useing a lump of OOOO steel wool inside the tubing. It will let the air through but slow down any gas trying to run out.
 
You would have to use that with an aluminum tank, wouldn't you? Looks like a good choice for the aluminum ball bat. Do you have a thread? I'd like to see a picture. How did you cap the end of the ball bat (assuming it is cut off)? Do you weld tat yourself or have it done?
