building shift gearing

Thanks 5-7HEAVEN, Your math seems excellent. I have a 10-40 tooth chainring from jackshaft and a 36? (will count it) front chainring on bike. I think the front de railer would keep the chain in place. I'll try to find one today.

Have a 33 tooth sprocket coming for the jack shaft to replace the 43. My splines I cut aren't the straightest so the 33 will mount to a smaller gear right to the 5/8" keyed shaft and bring the ratio perfect. Should get that Wed or Thurs.

It's an excellent combination to start with. You should have it all, brutal acceleration, overdrive, less engine wear and excellent gas mileage.

If you have a powerful engine, it will scream.

If you have a low-to-medium hp engine, it will sing like a sewing machine.

Low to medium hp . Shifting as of yesterday. Rode it around for awhile
Finally no chain jumping. Installed the SBP 36 tooth and plate to help keep the chain on.
Forgot camera, pics later.
Sure is fun to shift even with auto clutch.

A few pics. Went 30 mph in 3d out of 6 gears. Sure is fun to shift. Riding in the dark. Can see now.
