Waste o' time messing with an old gasket. Get some HD Mr. Gasket re-inforced exhaust gasket material (well stocked auto parts place or speed shop)

Or search for EGR Valve gasket. They are metal and hold up to the heat. I have seen posts with part numbers. But I would still get the gasket material, youll need it...

Thank's for reminding me :D That was my post and some said it does not fit (?) It work's fine for me...I need to take some pic's of that to set the record straight....Maybe just a little difference in motor's (?)

Mr larkin PM me your address and I'll send you a good exhaust gasket or two for a couple of bucks. I make mine out of high temp gasket material that can also be used for head gaskets.
