BoXer Race Bicycle transformation!!!!!

Hey Easy, can you tell me total cost? Including shipping? I bought mine from GM when I bought the Magic Pie III but I'm thinking I could go all the way up to Mt Hood with an extra battery.
The Battery and charger with shipping came out to $360 and took 4 weeks to arrive. For $20 more you can get a bike rack with it.
 
another nice thing is you now have 2 chargers, i just made both battery's and chargers use the same charging plug and keep one at work so i can charge while working. makes it nice because round trip is over a mountain range, battery has enough to make it to work and back however charging at work i can take and go riding at lunch also without worry of running down battery.
 
I'm noticing there's a overall resemblance between your bike's style, and the Stealth. Yours has a tube frame, instead if a box, is the main difference I see. I heard that design is mediocre. :-{

So this weekend I went as far as I could go on my big battery. I did mostly flat ground riding. I was surprised that I only got 32.7 miles on it but that was a lot of miles before it went dry. I did get roughly 2.5 miles when I noticed the green light went out but I did see a drop in top speed. Top speed was around 20 mph during the last 2 miles. At least I know my new battery can go 8 miles.
I think for now I'm going to not mount the second battery because I'm think of getting another MP3 for my GT LTS.
 
I forgot to mention that I rode around with my lights on for about an hour as well. I started riding at 6am but next week I'm starting at 5am.
Note to self....wear warmer gloves!!!!!! Haha
 
Lately I've been doing a lot of dirt/trail riding along side of the train tracks. At first I thought I was constantly riding through flying insects but to find out it was dirt kicking up the front tire. Here are a couple of fenders I've tried. The full fender seemed to work ok but would rub when I bottomed out the front shock. plus, I really didn't care for the look. I found this short fender for $6. It strapped on to the bottom post of my frame. After trying it out for a couple of trips, I liked it better and it doesn't rub if the front shock is completely bottomed out. If you want the protection of a front fender without actually having one on, I recommend the short one and you won't have to worry about it falling off and locking up the front wheel.

I see you're running 2 headlights ala speed triple style. Those look like the one I ordered for my bike. I'm only planning to run one. Isn't one bright enough?

great idea easy rider. this is the first time I have seen them big wide rims up close. I must have some for my motorized bicycle

Yes, one is plenty bright. I have mine set up so I can have either one or both on.

Lately I've been only riding during the mornings. In fact I'm about to go on a riding with my buddy in 30 minutes and we always have an extra battery to extend our morning rides.
 
I was a little disappointed with the range I got with my new battery. I only got 14.5 miles on it but I had my lights on about 50% of the time. Does anyone else have one of these 48v 10ah LifePo4 battery in an aluminum case? I'm wondering what kind of mileage they're getting.

How fast were you going? If 20 mph or more, that doesn't sound all that bad. Fighter's have 48v 1000kw batteries which are probably around 20 amp. They claim 35 mile range, which you know is probably only 30 mile. That would make 14.5 mile about right, especially if you're going fast.
 
The guy I ride with has a 750 watt hub with a 48v 9ah lifepo4 battery and he gets between 22-25 miles on a fully charged battery. We usually cruise around 20mph. I thnk next I will try it without using the lights.
 
if you are not running full throttle and on fairly flat land you should be getting over 20 easily i would think. lights do drain the battery fast though. the motors are built with efficiency in mind to get the most mileage possible, lights are not. be interesting how much more you get with the lights off
