Saw it on my local craigslist. Front wheel mounted motorized bicycle : old bike from fortys or fiftys These types of bikes look tough to drive on anything but flat land.

I'm no expert on antique or rare classic bicycles (although I'm old enough to be), but I certainly doubt that thing is older than the 70's. It pretty much looks like the old Chicken Power front drive engine kit, if I'm not mistaken.......please correct me if I'm wrong.:-||

It does look 60s-70s ish rather than from the 40's. I've been lurking on craiglist nonstop, while hoping my stolen bike makes a return. I thought this one was curious. Good action overall.

wouldn't go so far as to call it an "antique."

    it's a Velosolex, first made in 1946.

here's a link to wikipedia: Solex - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

if you figure out what model it is, you can date it.

new one's go for around 2 grand. dunno what an older one's worth.

Anyone ever ride one of those? It must be similar to riding a bike bug? Maybe I should check it out.
