I'm leaking air from cable throttle housing, the part that threads on to the carb. I looked inside of the cap and noticed some burs and sanded them down as best I could. But because of the difficulty in reaching them, I feel if I try to sand off much more it will only look better and not seal better.
Even if I wanted to use a thread sealer I doubt it would seal because it has flat sides with no thread on each side of carb. I've tossed an o-ring and rtv at the very bottom on the carb where the cap rests when threaded onto the carb. But it isn't a very good fix seeing the cap just doesn't thread well and any more then hand tight will strip off the threads and tends to work loose.
I'm contemplating getting a new cab, can't hurt to have spare parts. But really want to save my money for a jack shaft kit. So if if anyone has any insights on how I could seal this I would be grateful.
