Before I put this engine in the Sportsman Flyer, I think a couple hours runup/ break in are worth the trouble. Break in oil from my first 79 cc engine was very cloudy.
The metal grunge in this new engine crankcase, pre run in. Is a WTF! Factory does not clean the engines.

I just now found your email. We can further discuss the porting/polishing there. 50 bucks does sound like a good deal (plus shipping I know).
 
Does anyone know how changing the position of the spring affects the tav 2 torque converter? Like does it make it harder for it to change to a higher gear ratio?

Doesn’t matter what you do it won’t top out more than 30mph.

You can put a stronger spring in a clutch to get better acceleration. Green or black spring.

The q-matic with its clutch on jackshaft and belt drive primary is the best design transmission out there for many reasons.
 
So Jeff, if you got another engine, we can do the mods on to calm Tony's misgivings.
My port ,polish, and compression build will be done 4/26.
Yer call you got my number. The only thing, and Tony is right is a Tav 2 CV is a power hog. ie. inefficient. HP makes it workable.

I may hold off on taking you up on getting my cylinder head ported for a lil while (until I get that next paycheck :cool:)
 
I will give you credit Jeff, the risk is yours if you send me your engine head as per our e mail exchange. I am tooled up to do a one week turnaround. Take care
